Monitor local in a system with api?

Hello,
I am almost new to eve APIs and i am now looking for something:
As in title: there is a way with api to get how many players are in a certain system? I want only the local players number, no others informations

I'd imagine that'd be highly unlikely, as that would just make bot creation and tools to aid warning of incoming threats too easy, taking all of the fun out of the game.
