Allow fitting of non usable modules

Hello,

Yesterday I was fitting some ships for my corporation but something disturbed me : I was unable to fit module that I can't fit.
(yes I knew that before making it).

My Idea is to allow fitting of module you have'nt skills for but offline instead of having a message saying that you can't fit it. (by manual or automatic fitting).

You will still unable to use the module but it will be fitted on the ship, offline, like someone trading/contracting you a ship you can't entirely fit and some modules goes offline.

could be useful to have.

Other than rookies (who would probably be most negatively affected), I don't really see any downsides.

I mention the rookies, because they'd probably be the ones to get upset that they can fit (but not use) a particular module.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

The module will be offline and a warning message will still say that the module can't be used.

So if rookies are able to read the message and differenciate offline and online module it could be ok :)

Hello,

I come again with this point cause I had, again, this problem.

Fitting ships for the corp but I have to put the module in cargo for everyship instead of just fitting them "offline", ready for another player to use it after.

This seems like a good change to go along with the industry changes Big smile
Who is most likely to meet this problem?
The PVPer that use these modules or the industrialist fitting ships so they are available to PVPers Blink
Batolemaeus
Mahlstrom
Northern Associates.

Usually those are one and the same. However, I, too, can not fit absolutely every single module there is in Eve.

Sure makes filling doctrine orders easier

E: oddly enough, you can also fit rigs that you do not have the skill for. They might change but that's the way it is right now.

I was going to ask the point of this change.

OP explained it well.

Therefore: +1 for making complete sense.

It would also be incredibly nice if we could board ship that we don't have the skills required for, but NOT undock. (And only in stations)

CCP Punkturis has already confirmed they are doing this for Crius in the Test Server Feedback Forum.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.
