Alright, so I'm new to EVE, it was hard to get into, but now i'm really into and enjoy EVE. Ive tried many things, FW, exploration, PI, and read about many things on how to make ISK, and I now really want to try out Incursion running. I'm going to be buying my first battleship ( hurray!) and fitting it with a reccommended "assault" fitting I found on EVE Uni ( Navy armageddon). I'm an Amarr, and wish to fly only Amarr ships, and I also participate in factional warfare, not sure if this will be an issue. I have a good idea of how incursions work, but I have no idea where to go, who to ask, or how to join them. What kept me in EVE was the kindness and willingness of players to help, and I'm hoping someone could introduce me into incursions and teach me how to do them. What players have done before was set a date and time and we would play for a good 1-3 hours almost like a 1 on 1 class session teaching me how to do them. Just as a side note, I am younger than most players, some people don't like talking/playing with younger people, but I havent gotten that impressions from any EVE players yet ( I am not a 10 year old, I can easily learn and understand the more complex parts of EVE, and follow orders from a FC without any issues). As the fit wont be the best fit modules ( mostly T1), and I'm new, I'm wondering if anyone is willing to help me do incursions and introduce me to the groups/areas that do them! thanks ahead of time to anyone who replies.

Well I can tell you right now that with restrictions you already mentioned you will not find a large official group willing to take you. Many of them require T2 fittings at a minimum. Also with you being in FW that could cause some other problems. The groups I normally fly with will not accept anyone who is currently at war, and FW is a big ole permanent war. Not to mention the fact that you are automatically cut off of half of all high security space due to your FW status.

However, you might be able to find some small groups or maybe a small group of people willing to take you under their wing and show you what to do. I personally don't know of any groups sadly.

start out by hanging out in the 'Incursion Armour Fleet' chat channel
(dunno what it's called, but i'm sure someone will link it)

offhand, your looking at a fit that has
(a 100mn MWD may be needed)
~70% resists
~100k ehp
2-3 tracking modules

whether you get to incursion or not is down to the FC
your fit will play a part in that decision

get an Incursion overview tab setup before you try joining a fleet
TAGS need to be displayed on it

at some point you may need to consider cross-training for a pirate faction BS

If you are in factional warfare, you won't be accepted in incursion fleets.

The reason is that providing you remote repairs will, in a fairly large number of circumstances, cause the logistics ship to go suspect.

If you want to fly incursions, you need to go straight up OCD incursions. With amarr you only have a few options: Navy ships and paladins for armor (TDF: http://www.tdf-theditanianfleet.org/) and Nightmares for shield fleets (the majority of incursions). There's also the bhaalgorn, but it's a bit awkward to fly and is usually used in limited number as it take a more supportive role and has mediocre DPS.

You want a minimum of 100,000 EHP (more for assaults+), 70% on each resist, 800 dps (1000+ preferred), T2 weapons, and preferably deadspace tanking modules. You may get into some learning fleets without it, but you'll spend most of your time waiting and making isk slower than missions. The easiest way to get involved is to have a high dps, high tank ship.

Don't be part of any corp that participates in wars or faction warfare.

The best thing to do would just be to run level 4s until you have the isk saved up to drop 2-3 bil on an incursion ship.

Siris Dethol:

Please review the following thread: Incursions Start here.

It will give you all the information you need to make a good start into the incursion communities. Some organized groups are more new player friendly than others, but if you participate in their channels you'll get an immediate idea of the ships and builds you'll need for the current content.

The incursion communities are very friendly to most new pilots. Don't be afraid to ask questions in the channel. Plenty of folks are willing to help you out and send you approved fittings. These organized groups will also require that you have Teamspeak in order to listen to the FC and communicate if things go sour.

Good luck, and I hope you find incursions as fun and enjoyable as I do!

One more tip. Incursion runners often use hyper-expensive fits. If you can find a way to destroy those ships, half of the modules on them will be yours.

Do this ten or twenty times to carefully chosen targets, and you might just be in a position to buy yourself a character with very good incursion skills, as well as a couple of (less decadent but still viable) incursion fitted ships, should you choose to do so.

This method has the added benefit of sounding significantly more fun and satisfying than running the sites.
