Hi, this is Max, known to my friends as Jack. I wanted to send you the isk. Please send me 3 billion first to cover taxes and difficulties moving the isk out of my jurisdiction, then I'll ask our friend to reopen the trade window and send you your isk.

I do not think it is un-EVE(worthy) to act in a noble and honest way.

When everyone else around is acting as animal does, chained to dishonesty,
subterfuge, and crime, does it take more courage to do the right thing
or wrong thing?

I think that some of the best players are those who work to enhance the
positive experiences of those around them.

Now don't get me wrong -- I do not consider PvP inherently bad, but does
one need to be an ******* in chat about such things? A tip of the hat, a
"GF", and maybe some pointers to be on your way.

For the rest, I think co-operative efforts to achieve goals, respective to the
experiences of those around you is the pinnacle of EVE characteristics.
Standing out and doing the right thing, in whatever venture you choose.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear.

You must be new here. You can't put titans in trade windows.

Lol

Chribba is an authority on trading titans. If he says you can put it in a trade window...

Accept, do not spend the ISK, immediately petition to see if it's a misdirected RMT payment. Let the GM decide whether you get to keep it or if it is dirty ISK.

Remember, you can use the petition system not just to report bad things to GMs but also to ask a GM if something is suspect.

I think you did the right thing. Because accepting it might have been a hell of a war dec if they're just handing out 114 billion.

OP failed the eve test.

Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end.

Why don't these things ever happen to me?!? Sad

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

This person opens a trade and places 114 billion ISK in it. I stared at my screen in disbelief and suddenly the trade was cancelled. The person then opens up a private chat and asked if I was the right person that someone named 'Jack' wanted to have him send 114b. I replied by saying I wasn't the right person.

Personally, I think I made the right choice.

Do you people think I've made the right choice?

I would have said 'yes' just so someone else could take my place as the dumbest player in the game.

In terms of real world morality, what you just did was a very good, human thing.

In terms of playing EVE, what you just did was miss out on an opportunity to get your hands on 114 billion ISK.

That was pretty dumb.

Animals have no concept of morality

Nature does not recognise "good" and "bad"

But directly to your statement;

It requires more courage to do the "wrong" thing out of choice;

Than to do the right thing because you are supposed to.

So, if the ISK had been accepted by OP and had later been linked to RMT, how could he get in trouble? That's like a cashier being thrown in jail for accepting a very believable counter fit bill. Surely the ISK would just be taken by CCP, no?

What proof would the OP have that he wasn't engaging in RMT? Appears to me this is exactly what an RMT isk transfer would look like. "Hey! I accidentally sent you too much isk!! Give it back! *wink* *wink*" "Ha! ha! haaaa! I have it now. Your loss!! *nod* *nod* *fist-bump* "

And might still get a PLEX out of it as a reward under the SNitches In Plex Program (SNIPP), or whatever it is called.

If it had turned out to be RMT when you petitioned, you'd probably get the PLEX for snitches reward. Considering the amount involved for either outcome, you should have taken the money and run. Oh well. At least "you were there," right?
