Blockade Runners and how I feel they should be improved!

Greetings,

Not sure if i'm in the correct place to post this ( feel free to move the post admins if in wrong place )

Anyway I feel the Blockade runners don't actually live up to there name! I mean the very definition of the name implies they get past blockades! So to that effect wouldn't it be more awesome if they was immune to bubbles and mobile warp disrupts?

just a thought... comment below !

They are due for some changes, though not what you're expecting.

Highlights are:
They all now have two highslots for a probe launcher or covert cyno alongside the cloak. The Prowler gets a third low.
A pretty significant cargohold increase across the whole line. They still have significantly less max cargo than any of the T1 haulers, but they can now all break the 10k threshold with T1 rigs.
Replaced the useless tanking bonus with +5% warp speed per level. This means that at Transport Ships level 5 they go 7.5au/s.
Their tanks still aren't anything to write home about, but we have given them full T2 resists.

Oh I know about the upcoming changes... It was just a thought I had... it just seems logical in my mind.

The Way I see it is bubbles and mobile warp disruptor's are blockades as they stop ships warping into them etcs so by very definition shouldn't "blockade runners" be immune to the effects?

Or am I being stupid?

honestly, blockade runners run blockades by being invisible, not by being immune to bubbles.

if anything, the deep space transport, with its current +2 warp stability should be the immune one.

i caught wind that the blockade runner will be cargo scannable sometime in the future, kind of makes the one toon i trained just for that kinda pointless if that happens, thats my main concern with blockade runners atm, i can live with the rest

If they ignore blockades, how're they running them?
A moonshiner's car may be tuned and modified for speed but they have to run on the same roads as the cops. Running a border means dealing with the same navigational hazards as those who might intent to stop you; success is achieved by speed and surprise, by choosing unguarded moments.

no one can scan you if you're cloaked, there is no need for the unscanable cargo hold.

As for Blockade Runners in general, they are fine. It is hard enough to catch one as it is now.

it aligns as a frigate, has a covert ops cloak, and has a very small signature. Bubble immunity would be ridicules.

In the time I've played EVE I lost 1 BR and that could have been avoided if I had payed better attention.

Bookmark General, gate and station safes along your routes and there is no need to lose a BR aside from very bad luck and lag.

I'd be more in favour of a T3 class ship that does this very thing. Access to nullification should come with some SP investment don't you think? The concept is sound... just doesn't need to be applied to the current range of ships.

Blockade Runners are already hilariously OP.

Kronos will make them even better (faster, more cargo).

Hey I ain't complaining cause I use them often, but I honestly don't think they need any more buffs!

Anyway, CCP Fozzie clearly answered the OP's question here.
