in the clandestine world of drug running, tag running, and general smuggling, i think it would be cool to give Eve's "Han Solos" the ability to try and sneak stuff past NPCs and Players

a low slot module that ads a small (50m3), medium (100m3), or large covert cargo bay (1000m3).

it would require a little more power and cpu that expanders due to the shielding, but it would have the same drawbacks as cargo expanders.

The effects would be as such:

  • the bay itself is shielded from scanning the contents.

  • This bay would be detectable if a ship scanner is used (people would see the module and know something is fishy),

  • but would be undetectable if a cargo scanner is used.

  • any contraband kept in it is immune to npc faction scans.

  • loot would drop from them like any normal cargo bay if the ship is popped

so a player can see ur breaking the law but has to break the law by ganking u to punish u? bit pants on head.

CCP once mentioned binning NPC scanning and having players being able to flag other players as suspect if they are carrying contraband.

Then we wouldnt need dodgy fitted cargo bays. just players bored enough to camp high sec. Gankers would be law enforcement.
