so I'vecompleted the first bunch of training missions and am ready to take my destroyer off to a new base of operations learn more. And find my path

but now my hanger looks like my garden shed, lots of things I don't want to throw away yet, I might need it later.

Can Isimply move my hanger junk automatically to a new base of operations, or do iI have to pack it all up on my spaceship and travel across the galaxy with a sofa bashing the back of my head every time I brake hard and a goldfish bowl on my lap !!!!

Welcome to EvE!

My advice: Pack up all the most useful items (inc a frigate and a dest) into your free hauler and sell the rest

Its unlikely you will be back at the start zone for a while

+1 on Ramona's comments.

In just a short while, all that stuff you have that looks useful now, will be useless to you as you skill into better modules, etc.

I'd be tempted to reprocess most of it and just sell the minerals, but im a little impatient like that sometimes.

You can haul it yourself, or you can set up a contract for someone to move it for you. Be sure to put a collateral that is equal to the value of the items and then a reward that makes the job worthwhile for someone to move the volume and distance you are planning on going.

Chances are a lot of it isn't really needed anyway but until you know what is of value or not, if you can move it, you might as well.

Be aware that even in high sec you can be attacked by other players looking to scoop the valuables from your cargo. This almost only applies to people hauling high-value items so don't worry about it too much.

After a while you will find creating redundancy instead of moving is much more convenient. Or selling/reprocessing everything and buying new stuff in the next home system. Personally, I have one base in every empire with a jump clone and a fifth jump clone to roam around. Allows for a quick change of scenery when so desired.

Good luck in your future endeavours!

Basically some stuff I want to keep in case I get podded as I venture into more dangerous realms. A few ships some skills I can't train in yet and a few modules to make a restart easier !!

Items that are in your hangar in some station will stay in that station until you do something with them - sell, move, reprocess, trash.

Take a look at the Industrial class of ships. Some of them have huge cargo holds for carrying all kinds of items and some of them are more specialized for specific types of items. Of course, make sure to tank it even if you are in high security space and avoid going into low security systems with your industrial ship.

You can also have other players move your items for you with courier contracts, just make sure to enter the collateral for the contract that is higher than the total value of your items. If you have a lot of items to move, say 860,000 m3 of items, there are even player run services that you can use to move the stuff for you... for a price, of course. The most notable one is Red Frog Freight: http://red-frog.org/jumps.php.

Don't forget to reset your medical clone when you change location, so if you die (and get podded) you are resurrected with your stuff rather than in the starter system.

I've never figured out a fast way to find a station with medical facilities, so this might be a rubbish method. When you get to your target system, r-click in space, go through the stations listed, check the services tab for one with medical. Dock up and open medical, move your clone there (it's pretty cheap to do).

i've always used the f10 map filter. it highlights the systems with medical services, and when you roll over, names the stations

If you join his corp, put it into the corp hangar and undock.....

Don't rely on the hanger isk value to set your collateral. Always bump the collateral up to account for regional value differences. Some people say at least 50% more collateral. 20 to 25% is usually adequate. Collateral above 1B will start dropping potential carriers fast, so break into smaller contracts if needed.

Rough reward amount is 1M for every 100M of collateral or 300K/jump. YMMV

Moving your base of operations is common in eve - best get used to it. Courier services are great like red frog and push, but they probably cost more than the value of your hangar. Hauling it yourself can take a while and risks getting blown up. Might be best to just bring what you need an you can always pick the rest up later.

Personally, I have moved probably 5 times in the past 2 months
