Lost in Eve - Old hand back in the game and looking for trouble.

I'm lost in Eve and I have been since the corp I joined years back folded up.
Since then I've not done much of anything, I've moved a little from corp to corp, but nothing has really helped me get back into proper Eve. It's just been a bit of missioning, the tiniest amount of (failed) Pvp, a corp theft which lost me all my good hardware a while back, a bit of wormholing, poverty, a long absence and now I'm here. I've resubbed after a long downtime and a few days ago after a decent run of solo wormholes I took my eyes off the d-scan for too long and got jumped by a Proteus, a Loki and some Amarr ship which begins with A (don't they all) and did tons of damage to me and killed and podded me.

Bugger...

After that my enthusiasm for solo wormholing has somewhat waned... It's never been particularly strong, but it's been relatively profitable and the loss of my ship and pod has confirmed to me that I bring the right attitude to the game (it's my own damn fault, but I'm not going to let it put me down completely). Since then, thanks to my insurance, I have more cash than I had before (that and finding a rather convenient cache of Quafe Zero to sell...) so it's dead simple for me to buy back my ship and go wormholing again... but...

I miss the social side, with the working together, the comms chatter, the fleets, the corp ops and most of all - null sec, where I spent the most important part of my Eve life up to this point. But these days, with no corp I have no (safe) way of living in null-sec. Provi is of course an option but that strikes me as a recipe for suicide as I'll have no access to intel channels or anything like that. Thus I'll just be food for killmails when a hostile warps onto grid who I have no clue is a hostile...

What's more, I want to lead. In my first (and really, only) corp, I was forever the baby. I was pretty much the newest guy they brought in before they started tightening up recruitment and put an SP requirement in, to the point that I had less skill points than the requirement stipulated. I was really the newb, I never really got to do anything serious, I was always tagging along in something crappy like a salvager whilst the big kids had all the cool hardware. They treated me fair (for the most part) but I don't want to do that again. I've had experience of leading in other games, but I feel Eve is where leadership actually matters a great deal. I don't claim to be a good leader, I know I'm not, but I'd like the opportunity to become one, which was something I had no opportunity of doing in any other of my corporations. I know I won't be leading immediately, I don't expect to. But I'd like the opportunity of doing it at some point.

So, who are you, unknown person who represents the perfect corporation for me? You are two people:

A) A Corporation new to the game. A corporation which has big dreams. A corporation with a low SP background majority, who would benefit from a veteran amongst them. You dream of going to nullsec, to be what a corporation like Goonswarm is today. You just suffer from inexperience and lack of knowledge. A corporation like this doesn't fit the requirements I've set above, but it has something no other corporation has, potential. This kind of corporation would not make me a lot of isk (a problem I've always suffered from, for a long time I've not had a lot of time to play) but it would have an emotional pull that would make helping it far more interesting and worthwhile than carebear corp no.227. This is the sort of corp where I would have the chance to take the lead in a little...

B) A nullsec corp, well established, with exciting things to do and fun to be had and epic fights to be fought. You represent the good old days to me, ratting in null, going on the odd roam, fleeting up for the massive engagement ( although being on the archaic computer that I was in, the game would then completely crash on me...). I want to be able say or type in corp: "who wants to have a roam" and 2-3-4-5 guys sign up for fun and explosions.

So the details:

I am:

-- A char with about 17m SP, focused on the good fun stuff really, lvl 5 Spaceship command, Frigs, Cruisers and BSs. Gallente only for me currently. I have no immediate interest in Capital ships (they cost too much for me!) but they are an option for me in the far future. For now, I'm keeping it subcapital. I am able to take up a T3 cruiser but don't own one as yet (again, the price tag). Along with this I am able to mostly T2 fit almost everything I own.

-- A guy who has a good theoretical knowledge of most things in Eve. PvP, trade, mining, missioning, wormholes, I've done them all at some point!

-- Nothing to do! Give me something, anything and I'll do it, for fun or money.

Personally I am:

- Australian TZ based, but US timezone is okay as well. Currently I am only available for playing on the Weekends.

- Laidback, it's a game, stress and tension is fun but too much is silly. I don't rage if I can help it.

- A team player, I can take orders, I am able to be an active member of the team, be warned, if I don't feel something is right I will raise it.

- On the other hand, if there's no one to lead, I will take things up if nobody else will.

- A talker, I love talking, 'nuff said.

If you've finished reading this essay on how I could conquer Eve if typing were the requirement, feel free to message me, I'm happy to provide API stuff, killboards (not that you'd want to look, it's awful) etc. The char I'm posting this on is my main, I possess no alts.

See you on grid.

Welcome back, Schulz! You wont have conquered eve via text so easily, as you'd have to compete with me first. ;)
The corp I'm in represent option B. And although we're established, our alliance is always in need of more people willing to step up into leadership, as most players eventually realize it's not all sound and fury, but a lot of work. Anyone who's got the will to work and expertise to show in our corner of New Eden tends to gain influence. This tends to take time, as you know, but I know that our corp and alliance are a good place to aspire.

Anyways, onto my usual sales pitch.
Take a look at Jolly Codgers corp. I believe you'll like the sore of environment we make.

Our corporation is a mid sized(100+), long-term, stable, competent, experienced, and mature group. Codger pilots are all 30+ years old, who log in to hang out with fellow players with real lives, responsibilities, families, and medical bills, and for null-sec PVP. We participate most often in small fleets, very regularly in medium fleets (~30-80), and always join up for large fleet actions, during coalition wars. Codgers have been there to participate in all the fights that made Eve history over the past few years.

Codgers are an old member of the Get Off My Lawn alliance, who are very like-minded and well-organized. We own sovereignty and assert dominant control of the Delve region(as our most recent war has re-affirmed). Delve is one of the richest and most contentious areas of Eve - There's always ISK ready to be made, intruders to chase down, and enemies right outside our borders. As befits an exceptionally organized and stable group like our corp and alliance, we've also got robust comms, forum, and training resources, as well as a generous ship-replacement program.

We're proud because we've got it all, and are never bored. And it only gets better the more quality individuals we collect. We're looking for anyone we get along well with, who does not bring drama, and who wants to fleet up to get some action with us.

If you're interested, and meet our 30 years age requirement, check our thread here for more information - Jolly Codgers
And to take it further, feel free to eve-mail me, and drop into and hang out in our in-game recruitment channel, "Jolly Codgers"

*Note: If you don't meet the 30 mark, I can suggest a corp or two with less stringent age requirements, as well as corps in our alliance that are strongest in the AU time zone.
