Gecko nerf

Riht now Gecko drone is super Fun! but i saw they are geting huge dps nerf on sisi, so are they going to be nerfed when Kronos is coming out?

i know a loot poeple are using them now for pve, because they have better dps and tracking and the speed. they do omni dmg tho.


right now you have about 1050 dps on ishatar, and on sisi you have 850 :< and about 817 with reglar heavy drones. so i guess people will stop using them.

So is this idea goin to be be live on Tq? Sad

They are way to strong right now and are making all other drones obsolete.

Are they actively being nerfed, or are the keeping the same stats, but no longer benefiting from the interfacing bonus as much?

(I've not checked)

well there is limit on them, and they don't have more tank, and you can deploy less, and if people use them a loot they will be gone sooner than later.

a loot will be lost in space, kiled by ships and burn with the cargo. it's allways good for the game to have some thing that is OP.

It brings some content and specialy if this thing is limited like gecko drones, and gnosis. isn't gnosis super good? :)

sad to hear ... they are super fun now, and they will be just another Meh ... in space after nerf :(

On SiSi, it appears as if their tracking/mobility would still outperform regular heavies - their dps though seems to be inferior right now.

The Gecko has the bade damage bonus that all drones are getting in Kronos, already.. which means when Krono's hits, it's DPS will go down with the nerfs to Drone Interfacing skill.

But it'll still be awesome. But not like it is now, where using any other drone (less maybe sentries) is foolish when it can be used.

i think CCP made an awsome move by starting giving players items that and fun and can actualy be used like Gnosis.

But the Gnosis didn't bring power swift in null sec, or pushed drake/tengu away. some people gave it a try and now you don't see it to often, but it's still used.


Well same with gecko, right? The drone is not to OP, you kill one and you cut dps of enemy ship by almost 50% and it's just one heavy drone that is not coming back. there is limited supply of them from active accounts.

So it's not so cool for pvp, but it's used a bit in pve because you get just a little bigger tick with them and have open options for other drones on drone boats.

because 2X gecko have better dps than 5X t2 heavy drones. but they do opmni witch make is about same dps, but you still have the wonderful option for other drones, like salvage ones :)

but if you cut the DPS to about as T2's there is no point to use the in PvE because you will deal a lot less dmg than with T2's,
and it means that thay will be no longer optimal to use in pve.

you will make it another relic in hangar and they will likly don't see the sun again. In my opinion it will be a step backwards and taking
the candy away with all thet love that came with it :) Blink

just keep them as something fun to use but only moderately useful

limited edition birthday items that are handed out for free should not be the best that money can buy. they are collectors/novelty items.

The latter. Drone interfacing in Kronos is going from 20% per level to 10% per level, and the other 10% (well, it'll be 50% since it's scaled to having the skill at level V) is being baked into the drones themselves. Geckos however already have Kronos stats, so presently Geckos are getting 50% more damage on account of DI then they should be (at DI V, 100% from the skill and 50% baked into the drone).

Yes, but it's not actually a "nerf" per say (by any other definition it would be, but I digress lest the terminology police make an appearance)... it's just what the DPS was supposed to be post-Kronos. "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain..." Yes, it's a nerf.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

the geckos where released early with the new drone stats. all new drone states will be very close to this gecko when the patch hits. so dont worry all other drones are being balance to be the same as the gecko. roughly.

They aren't being nerfed, so much as they aren't getting buffed (as they already are) when other drones will be. They will still be good after Kronos, they just won't be as far ahead of other heavies.

the only 'nerf' I know of is the damage due to change in drone interfacing skill. everything else is remaining the same.
