I'm thinking of training an alt up for a Machariel VG incursion fit (either the secondary ISN or the nexsoft one), will I need to train skills other than the ones for the fit to get into VG incursions or will I not be able to do anything without gunnery skills? Also, rockets or light missiles on a crow, it'll be doing solo-frigate sized pvp.

You'll need a huge amount of support skills for any incursion fit. Generally speaking if you want to fly that sort of fit with ISN you're looking at 6 months *minimum* training time, probably far closer to a year, not to mention you will need the billions of isk to afford the ship and fittings. Incursions are quite sp-intensive and as a result are not really suited to very new players.

A crow will almost always have light missiles.

I'm not at a computer so I can't check but I don't ever remember making a plan that wasn't spread out that lasted more than a few months without 5'ing the skills.

The ISN Incursion requirements are indeed quite steep, however, this group is one of the top two or three Incursion runners in Eve, both in quality and in ISK earning.

There are other groups, of course, that do not have such requirements and where, without doubt, an ISN-fit Machariel would be very welcome.... if you actually want to trust such a group with a multi-billion-ISK fitted Mach is another question.

But anyway, there is a quite comprehensive forum thread regarding Incursions which should answer all your questions.

You will need quite a few skills at 5 to be able to run with ISN. That includes most of the gunnery support skills and tank skills.

Yeah, I though ISN was a low req group, I've since found it it's one of the highest.
I'm probably going to go for TVP because they run 23/7 and accept newbros (even if they are low-priority)
