Perharps I am alone but I think the warp speed gap is too big.
Here is my suggestion:

Interceptors 8AU/s like now
Interdictors 6AU/s
Electronic frigs and Covert ops: 5.5AU/s
Assault Frigates: 5.3AU/s
Tech 1 Frigates: 5 AU/s
Destroyers 4.5AU/S
Tech 2 Cruisers 4.3AU/s
Tech 1 Cruisers 4AU/s
Tech2 Battlecruisers 4AU/s
Tech1 BC 3.5 AU/s
Tech 2 Battleships 3.3 AU/s
Tech 1 BGattleships 3AU/s
Capitals: 2AU/S

This is clearly enough to make the difference.

As someone who primarily flies small things, there is nothing more satisfying than when you chase a big target and see them flash on/off your overview as you overtake them in warp. Everything is working as intended.

I don't like the idea of narrowing the gap as suggested.

But, when I warp a whole group, it'd be nice that they all warped at the speed of the slowest ship in the group. There has to be a warp speed gas pedal on these ships, ya know.

You need to use the "warp [squad|wing|fleet]" option (assuming you're in the FC/WC/SC role).

Unless they've changed that now too.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Warp speeds are fine as they are now.
As for fleet warps, that only works if all ships are properly aligned to the destination.
That way they'll enter warp at the same time and stick together.
If not, you'll end up spread out anyway.

Even with these changes, smaller ships will arrive first.
The idea is not to come back to the old system. I like the new one a lot.
But Battlecruisers, Battleships and Capitals are quite too slow.
A frigate, and even a cruiser will be able to tackle them even if they were a bit faster.

it would help the survivability of the bigger ships- why not make the bigger ships warp faster than the small stuff(with exceptions of interceptors) it would create another dynamic to the game. a battleship is a big ship with large engines and a large warp drive?

granted this seems like a crazy idea.

They do that if you use the fleet warp options (Warp Squad/Wing/Fleet); this works still as before. (Kinda annoying sometimes when your ceptor warps at the speed of a BS Big smile).

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

warp speeds were recently changed to wide the gap.

closing it is counter intuitive and means the previous change was a waste of time; it won't happen.

The way the ships were warping was very different. Before, a big ship was warping as far as a small if he was already aligned .
Now the small ships are very faster to enter warp than bigger. And they are also faster in the warp and faster to align.
This is why the gap between smaller and bigger ships doesn't need to be so big.

I think that it is better to let small ships being faster in warp.

Creating a new way to move for battleships in a system could be interestening though like a microjumpdrive that allow BS to jump on a cynosural field generator in the same system for example. But it is another thread.
