No reg required on the quiz, generates your score anonymously. I'm guessing most fall into the geek category here in OOPE, ah but what the hey lets find out. Pretty quick and basic.

And it has pictures!

Me:
Geek

You're a geek! You are a smart, hardworking person who has an affinity for technology and doesn't pay much mind to how other people see you. You are enthusiastic about your very specific, niche interests, to a much higher extent than the average fan. This can take the form of a devoted interest in comic books, movies, certain kinds of music, video games, etc. When you become passionate about something, you find that it becomes a part of your identity!

36.2% of people that have taken this quiz have achieved this result.

Nerd here.

The music question is rather odd. I can't imagine any of the 3 groups going for Show Tunes. At all.

You expect me to choose between my books and my computer??

I guess I would pick computers but only because I can still read books on my e reader.

Oh yeah I'm a dork by the way.

Looks like I am a nerd. All those answers with "books" in it? Seems biased.

Well... I like books too... but I can carry a tablet with 1000 ebooks/docs much easier than 1000 physical books. Which... um I do have around 1000 physical books, boxes of them... dusty old boxes of them now, a good amount being technical manuals which are/were good reading P. My official bug-out bag: it's a Swiss laptop backpack mainly with a few band aids that I couldn't print, room for laptops (multi OS's), GPS enabled nexus7, mobile hotspot, red-light flashlight, charger, anti-zombie weap, bottle of water, and a can of soda, check. I suspect that geekdom will outlive the cockroach in the end hehehe.

Nerd.

I didn't pick books for anything. I like books but the internet is just so much faster. Also I chose stuffed animals to save from a fire, and I don't think the TV channel choice meant much given that the selection included nothing geeky, dorky, or nerdy. But maybe the person making the test didn't know that Syfy doesn't show Sci-Fi or that the History Channel has nothing to do with history. I don't know what the other pick is but I never liked their shows. I picked History Channel because at least they have documentaries and so even if I disagree with half the things they say, at least it's my kind of movie. I'd be very comfortable in a world where documentaries were the norm and fiction was an outlier.

I didn't write the quiz so my opinion is my own and not a crib note. I would say that the history channel is geek, and sci-fi... or more so 'syfy' is nerd. Syfy, a geek would argue "that's impossible" too much, while a nerd would find it fitting to their comic book canons and look past any problems. SyFy has a lot of reality shows, not very geek friendly, but can still be entertaining to the nerd especially if superhero based (e.g. who want's to be a superhero? nerdy). But yes, sci-fi had more geek than syfy does, and all it's odd monster or mutant movies (sharknado?). But something like BSG would be a blur between the two, both geeky and nerdy, though more nerdy with the Starbuck ending. But that show Caprica would be more geeky, but it focused too much on teens which would be less appealing to the geek, so it failed.

History Channel can be geeky, such as an example. I mean it deals with reality, even though it's fictional, but also has low-tech which can be appealing to geeks (like collecting old computer systems). But history channel also shows excellent Astronomy documentaries, How it's Made, historical technology documentaries and such. Although, those also show on the Science channel, which would have been the correct choice for the quiz with the geek answer. The best answer would be TechTV, but that has long since past away. The ultimate answer imo would be "television sucks -everything has become 'reality' shows" and I just get what I want off the internet.

But results may vary, nothing is written in stone... any longer... not as often. Lines can be blurred, mixed and matched. More about gravitating towards one or the other, but I think being purely in any such realm is not achievable by any human standards... hmm well unless your a pure dork named Napoleon Dynamite.

Hmm... this movie list is pretty accurate. though I'd remove space balls, then there are a couple that are odd/unknown.
