Combine ECCM and SeBo's

Currently ECCM is pretty much considered useless.
The effect isn't that benefiical, its pretty much not worth using up a slot.

I propse combining SeBo and ECCM

SeBo, now:

Targetting range +30%, ScanRes +30%, 5 energy every 10 seconds

ECCM II now +96% sensor strength, 12/24 energy every 10 seconds (sensor specific/Omni)

I propose we add an Omni Sensor boost to SeBos.

Proposed new SeBo

+30%, ScanRes +30%, +96% omni sensor strength boost, 15 energy every 10 seconds, CPU use 25

And of course, there would be another script added for it, that doubles the ECCM bonus at the expense of the other bonuses.


Then do the same with sig amps

Sig Amp II Targetting Range +30.0% Scan res+ 15.0% CPU cost 25 tf
Omni Sensor Backup Array II Sensor strength +48% CPU cost 18

To the new Sig amp II->
Targetting Range +30.0% Scan res+ 15.0% Sensor strength +48% CPU cost 25


With more utility/versatility, these modules would be mounted more often, which would make ECM less effective.

You know what else sucks? Each gun using up it's own high slot. We should be able to put all our guns in one slot, then we can put nuets and smartbombs and cloaks and cynos on all our ships! If you disagree, you are obviously a troll and a sociopath and should be banned.

Combination like that would just create a mandatory module and serve as a nerf to ECM when the intent is to boost ECCM .. we don't need God modules just like we don't need (or want) gold ammo.

Assuming the flawed stun-lock ECM system is kept, question becomes what other attribute could be added to make ECCM less of a slot-waster, some ideas:
- Locked friendly targets get a small boost to some aspect of their sensors (built-in remote whatever or all
- Locked hostile ships get a small decrease to some aspect of their sensors (built-in remote whatever or all
- Impacting missile explosion velocity decreased based on signature:sensor ratio (passive counter measures).
- Ship with high signature/sensor ratio appear further away than it really is .. influences ability to both lock and damage (falloff) it.
Etc.

PS: Personally not a fan of the ECM system as it is and would prefer it be replaced by something more intuitive (read: not random), but trifles like that won't stop me from commenting!

-1. ECCM is useful, as is remote ECCM just as they are. Your solution would give the bonus a racial ECCM currently gives to all, whatever ship it's placed on, and in a mod that requires (in some cases) less than half the CPU and cap. Unsupportable, really.

Also, Hirana; ECM isn't random. Your ECM strength over their sensor strength is your chance to successfully jam them. If your jam strength is greater than your target's sensor strength, you *WILL* permajam them so long as they are within your optimal.
