Partially repairing overheated modules

With CCP karkur's post describing the progress indicator on repairing overheated modules, it got me wondering about some of the times when repairs take a really, really long time. You could be in a safe position when you begin, but that could change the second you click "Repair". If you were repairing weapons or tank, you're out of commission (or dead) until it completes.

Could we have the ability to interrupt the repair process, and thus only partially repairing a module, if we need/want to do this for whatever reason? The module would only be partially repaired, only a small bit of paste would be consumed, and the module would be active again relatively quickly.

Some delay on canceling the repair process, and some minor waste of paste would be expected and not at all unreasonable.

Hey, I know!!!
What about a right click option that says "Cancel repair?" You would select it and the module would stop repairing and stuff, but be repaired according to the time that has passed since you started!
(hint: it already exist ;) )

(but when I think about it, "cancel" implies that it will not partially repair, so it's misleadingP)

maybe changing the right-click to say 'stop repairing' would remove the confusion..

A better thing to ask for here would be to allow modules to start a repair when there isn't enough paste present to repair them fully.

Ideally, just remove the "cancel repair" option and have the repairs cancel automatically when you activate a module that is currently being repaired.

EDIT:

Even better, just have an activation attempt on the mod cancel repair and automatically activate it with a slight delay...probably one server tick or something.

Just trying to use the module, should halt the repair and active the module.

make an option to 'interrupt/pause repairs' and if you activate the module, it auto interrupts repairs, but you can't insta-overheat the modules, you have to activate, then overheat, so doofus's like me can 'lock' their modules off

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.
