Why you do this CCP :( I seriously hope Kronos isn't ANOTHER gig patch.

To test the New Eden Store and the new station skins. It was cleary explained in the DevBlog "From 2 expansions to 10 releases - EVE Online's new release model explained".

[...] But we can now show that separate copy of EVE to you by putting it on Singularity, get lots of feedback, and then go back and take as long as needed to make whatever changes we want to make based on the response we get. [...]

The test server changes 'branches' depending on the requirements for testing. As such, it will patch many files between these branches. This does not reflect the releases of Kronos, previous releases or beyond until we actually start putting the near-release build from our release branch onto Singularity.

So, Singularity will often have large patches and now we are in a new model this will happen more frequently as we change between needed branches to run testing on.

If you have ISP download restrictions, or a slow internet speed you will have to consider that one day we may update a 3gb patch, or another day a 10mb patch.

Your mass test numbers will hurt if you deploy a 3gig patch with no warning anywhere, to go over on my data plan by 3gb would be $45, which isn't worth it in anyway, shape or form.

Does this have anything to do with having multiple projects with different release dates now?

This sounds like a great way to have even less people test your patches. Awesome.

Paradox is correct, with the new branching strategy there will be high churn on Singularity as content is switched out, however the 980MB is intended for Kronos release and primarily consists of the factional station maps that Team Trilambda have been working on along with the new Mordus ships, Lens Flare and other goodies.

LIES! P

After all, the Mordu's Legin ships have placeholder models so far.

the paddle and the cruiser have models, no proper maps on them yet but they are in there.

Welp. I could've sworn they weren't in the client when I last booted up this version of the SiSi client. Probably a cache issue on my side.
