Covert Ops Drone Boat?

Are there any Covert Ops Drone Boats out there? Aside from the SOE ships.

The Pilgrim has a bonus to drone HP and damage, but it's also one of the worst recons.
However the recon rebalance is coming very soon and it's most likely still going to be a drone boat afterward.

It would be nice. About the closest thing you have is the Astero and Stratios... but they arent Cov Ops, only Covert Cloak capable.
Maybe the Arazu or Lachesis will get a small makeover... maybe. who knows what the Recon rebalance will bring.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I don't suppose it has exploration bonus' equivalent to the covops frigs?

More or less covert ops. cant warp cloaked, but cyno it in with a brick tackle, and it will bring the pain.

pilgrim is crap. worst recon. because speed and range is crap, tank is weak, and dps is horrendously low. it can work, but is very situational.

i had a pilgrim attack my vexor navy issue just last night actually. standard vexor, buffer fit, nothing special. guess what? vexor won.

if a recon cant beat a vexor with a buffer tank, its trash.

Considering the strengths of an Amarr recon, a buffer fit Navy Vexor seems a poor choice in prey unless I'm missing something.

Or maybe it wasnt used right? For small gang pvp the pilgrim is awsome as you can use it solo/with few people as it can get a higer damage output than any other recon. It also beats rapier and arazu on tank. Now use the cloak to select your fights and stay away from missile and drone ships where your tracking disruptors are useless.

Pilgrim at one stage a few years back was the boat to have for exploration.

Armor-tanked pilgrims are not very good. your forced to choose between dps mods and tank mods, and youre slow as hell.

Better drop tracking disruption and go XL ancillary shield booster fit. 65-75% resists, 700dps tank for a minute, and respectable 350 dps with drones. Still slow, but at least not a pile-of-bricks slow. Can still fit 2 medium nets and a small one, and cap-stable with cap injector.

And even shield tank is still crap. What exactly can you kill in a minute with 350 dps? nothing good.

Stratios can put out 900 dps with drones alone, and STILL have that same tank and neuts.

If a tech 1 cruiser can outperform a recon, something wrong with recon stats.

For PVE

The proteus is a painful formal refit it from depot to start running plexes boat, but it is superior to the stratios in terms of difficulty to interdict and ability to tank higher deds. I use it for fetching encounters in hostile space, drone fit.

In lowsec I'd use a stratios though - nullifier is useless in low, and stratios doesn't need to refit and do horrible things like carry huge volume of drones in cargo with spare subs as well.

And so does it with sentry drones, or heavy drones, actually in general stratios is one of the highest damage cruiser sized ships in the game... Which is also reflected in the price that is well above most T2 cruisers. Doesnt change the fact that it doesnt have the neut bonus from the pilgrim and it doesnt have tracking disruptor bonus, which is strong enough to take a gunboat pretty much out of a fight. They are pretty much as different as they can be, with only similarity being the cloak and weapon system.

I remember a guy who used to solo pvp in a pilrgim in Tama. The guy had somehow squeezed enough smartbombs to kill a pod into the pilgrim. You have no idea how many billions in losses he inflicted on the local pirates as he popped faction implants left and right when he caught their frigates and bombed their pods.

Pilgrims are very situational, but definately not a bad ship for the situations it is made for!

I can say this with ease: Pilgrim requires you to be quite cautious of your surroundings, since your prey is limited, your tank is bollox, and you have the agility of a oil tanker.


it is, however, the only cov ops brigeable that can help on breaking tanks.
