I was having a quick browse through this forum and one thing is immediately apparent!

Its clearly a minefield for new players. Are there ANY corporations that accept/train/teach/mollycoddle or whatever (basically cater towards) Brand new fresh faced noobs?

I know of EVE university (still going?) were very good and what goons do is hardly what I would call "catering" for the noob, Their scams are legendary

So, just curious..... Are you a corp for brand new players?, or perhaps a brand new player yourself and finding it impossible to select the right corp?

Many established corps will take new players - it depends on their attitude and approach.

Fair enough, I guess that was coming. Thank you for your input, but next obvious question is :- How on earth are new players supposed to find which these corporations are?

They find them by looking at the fourms and hoping one that puts up a decent add does not past them by.

If they just join our recruiting channel "HJ_Recruitment" there are links right there for the new to eve player to learn more

We have online forms and a website a new player can get help from.

We have a mentoring program and when a new player joins, he gets an automatic welcome text message listing the names of expericendce members in different areas of eve gsmeplay that he can contact for help.

We make it a point to ask daily if anyone needs any help or had any qurstions and concerns.

We fix problems as sooon as possible.

We have players like myself (10+ years) that are there to help them develop.

We have enough elder members that we are not over-run with new people and no one to help them.

I think I have givin some answers on how a corp can deal with new members and I hope this is not considered hijacking your thread but to show you haow we recruit to include members I'm incluiding a typical posting we use in this forum.

Good luck to you all and Safe Flight

Here is one of my Original Postings:

Joining a great corporation can be the hardest thing you’ll ever do in Eve Online

You’re on the forums looking at the help wanted postings, looking for a corporation that meets your wants and needs. However, there is a problem. Corporations wanting to recruit will tell you everything they think you want to hear just to get you to apply.

What makes anything I have to say any different? Well, we have not perfected a way to secure a PLEX with no efforts or to build mighty ships with ease. We are not market masters. And believe it or not we still fight for nearly everything we get or intend to keep

There is just the one thing however, that we do manage quite well. We work as a team, this means we are very social, we use Team Speak nearly always, and we go on roams together to practice our fleet actions and skills. When we mine we use Orcas, freighters and as many mining ships as we can get into a belt. We run mission fleets to raise standings with all game factions so our travels are not hindered.

I’m here to offer you a chance to do anything you want. If you join and don’t feel that Helljumpers meets your needs, we have other corporations in our alliance which may make better use of your skills. I may send you directly to them should you be a better fit with them than with Helljumpers.

I will take the time to chat with you, you only need to take the time to learn what we can offer and make a decision. My job is easy, you have the hardest part. I've found a good home will you do the same?

I’m Lactose Intolerant, I've been an Eve Online player for over 10 years. You May Find me on the Helljumper recruitment Channel. If I’m not there or I'm afk, feel free to post a short note to me and I’ll answer you very quickly. Come rain, hail or wars it don't matter, we do not stop recruiting.

“HJ Recruitment” Our Corp Recruiting Channel
The In-Game recruitment Channel has other informational links you can read to learn more about us.
“Capitalist And Killers” Is Our Alliance Name “Cake Alliance” for short

I’m also a diplomat for the alliance / if you have a 10 man or more corp and would like to talk about joining, I’d also like to talk to you about the alliance. Other Alliance Corporations are currently seeking Low and Null sec pvp pilots.

You will be asked for a liminterl access non-expiring API for all 3 characters on the account
You will have to use Team Speak 3
You be checked out before you are permitted to join
You will have fun.

Hi Kagutsuchi,

Repo. is a low-sec PvP/piracy corp that specializes in small gang and skirmish PvP. We accept new and old pilots alike, and have a reputation of skill and integrity. You can check out our eve forums recruitment thread here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4468306#post4468306

Lactose, It would seem you have a well rounded, organised and efficiently functioning corp. I am glad there are still some.

That said, I would still never have found you using the resources available unless I had spent a lifetime searching, knew what I was looking for or had some other pointer.

The integrity of corps is not what I was looking into here, merely the fact that there is little to direct new players when entering this aspect of the game.

Another truth is that of all the corps professing to be this and that when it comes to gameplay, leadership, assistance for new members etc etc... it is entirely Horsesh*t (no individual corps are being pointed at).

I guess the best reaponse I could get to my musing is from a new player themselves, explaining how they made it through the minefield!

Hello there!

Flying Dangerous (FIGL) is a null security PvP Alliance currently based in the Syndicate region. Our singular focus in Eve is PvP, pure and simple. We are primarily a small gang PvP alliance, with fleets consisting of anywhere from 2-30+ members. We are more than willing to take anyone and teach them to PvP. Experienced and talented fleet commanders lead fleets daily, with both scheduled and ad-hoc ops. We fly all races and ship types from frigate class to battleship and capital ships.
