It only makes sense that is all about Crowd Control would want to quell the threat of a Riot.

Riot is such a shady, terrible company peddling a crappier pay2win version of dota. If the offer is higher, I get it. It's super hard to respect anyone that goes to work for them on an ethical level, though.

Much respect to one of my favorite devs. I'll never forget what you did at the Plex for Good event.
Best of luck to you in your future adventures.

TBH I'd like to hear about CCP hiring someone new once in a while.

Not sure I'd wish for that, they only seem to hire people like Mintchip or EA guy.

On a side note, I'm surprised the League of Legends fad has lasted so long. It isn't a very good game, yet is super popular, surely it won't last forever. Then again, we're living in the Failbook Farmville era, so maybe I'm wrong.

Edit: Why is Riot so aggressively poaching CCPers?

What makes you think Riot is only after CCPers? If they are on a new project, they'll be reaching out to any and everyone. Then after release they all get laid off again. Such is the way of the corporate game development industry.

Mr Epeen Cool

This comment made me read Wikipedia file of Riot Games and it seems that Mr Epeen was right. Riot Games is hiring aggressively everywhere.

Above Wikipedia file gives new meaning to these words: "Go back to WOW" ;D

Well Riot has been trying to put a server everywhere they can. Just last year they made a Russian and a Latin American server. If I'm right Riot has servers set up in:

China, North Korea, EU west, EU East, Russia, Brazil, NA, Latin America, and Oceania.

Welcome to Lol Dolan, we welcome you with open arms. And Fix EU West while you are there :)

Well I guess it depends what you want from a game.

I enjoy league as if I have a spare 30 mins or so then I fire up league and i'm in a game within minutes.

League to me is like being a kid again and popping into a arcade to kill a bit of time. Its good fun, plain and simple.

Sweet move CCP Dolan. It's the right move.

Riot Games is headquartered in Santa Monica, California(It's like a mini Silicon Valley.). Take plenty of sunscreen.

Good luck, work hard, and thanks for your service to the EVE:Online community.

Choosing between a country in the middle of nowhere and a salary below average versus America and as twice as much money is what others would call a no brainer.

That said, I think that from a gaming perspective, EVE Online is a unique universe and probably a once-in-a-life opportunity. Maybe after some years they burn out and want a change. But LoL is just another Game with a really annoying, immature and childlish playerbase.

Coming from someone who hasn't played another game since he started playing EVE (except when Mass Effect 3 was released), I find EVE players' hatred of other games, including WoW and LoL, irrational. So what, you don't like them. Lots of people do, and enjoying mindless fun doesn't imply anything about that person's own intelligence.

Exactly....and the sad fact is that EVE Online doesn't always have a good reputaion out there and many gamers hate EVE also for sometimes obvious reasons I do understand...

delayed the csm notes, got shot with paintballs, and that's pretty much the only time i've ever heard his name.

CCP has one of the smallest (player base) online games ever and Riot shattered Blizzard's crown into confetti. Seems like an upward move to me.

lol. and Eve's player base isn't full of really annoying, immature and childish players.

Considering the content of many of the threads which are posted on the Eve O Forums and drama we have here, pretty damn difficult to try and hold the high ground against other gaming communities
