New Tooltips on Singularity

Bugs and issues found will talking to players on Sisi.

Bug reports in for missing tool tips( only show message id) in the current ships' info panel and ships fitting array.

ships insurance tool tip is miss located.

Tool tips needs an ability to adjust delay or just turn off.

Can we get a way to shrink the extra space out of the tool tip between the lines and edge and the text.

Can we get a way to change the text size.

Is the drone tool tip suppose to show more then name and value?

Are the module tool tips for modules currently active in the fitting window coming back.

System info window does not have the new tool tips.

What other windows are left out but will be added later.

Change in tool tips in the overview is a loss of functionality.

Channels linked in chat need a tool tip. I currently does not have one.

I think that the new tool tips waste too much space and maybe are a bit too large in general but mainly the space between lines of text and text and the border should be much smaller

I made a mockup to show what I think would look much better (left is my edited version)

in some cases the text is broken over for only one word instead of making it just a little longer which wastes a lot of space

the tooltips when hovering over something in the overview seem quite redundant since they mostly show whats on it anyway


I feel that there should be an option to only show tooltips when a key is pressed

edit: I don't believe that the person that needs a tooltip for the little x in the top right corner of a window should be playing eve, sorry

Edit2: I've noticed that the time it takes for the tooltip to appear when hovering over something in space is too short, it can happen that you accidentally mouse over something and then have the tooltip block what you where actually trying to click on
I also think those tooltips should be fading instantly upon moving the mouse

another more minor thing is that the black tooltips don't fit with my currently cyan UI color What? I have the suspicion that they are not designed to be able to be colored though right? Sad

Most of the tooltips are nice. They did stop working after I hovered over a system in a starmap and had to restart the client to get them back.

I like how stations got separated from orbital bodies in the solar system show info window, but I don't know if it was necessary to remove them from the list when you hover over a system on the starmap. I often used the starmap to quickly scout nearby stations, agents, services and set destinations to them. Most importantly I used it to view corp offices in those stations as there is no other way to view that information remotely. Why was this removed?

This one is caused by me missing to get proper localization data into the patch. Sorry about this - will be fixed in the next patch.

Why was the patch so big?

Edit: Answer is that the gecko and ship skins that where added directly to TQ clients got added to what was a Sisi client.

Looks good should get a positive response.

The last set of major tool tips bugs I had seen got fixed.

UI scaling not working with the new menu hack is still an issue.

The lost of functionality in the Overview vice old tool tips, ie allowing a column to we shrunk down but when moused over the tool tip would show the whole entry, will be the first major pain point identified in the release thread.

I had a check and the patch from current TQ to this new build on Singularity is only 19.9MB. Everything else was stuff, which was somehow missing on Sisi before.

The word that is being passed around is Wednesday next week with a mass test to check the changes the next day.

Current build on Sisi will go to TQ on Tuesday per CCP Explorer on twitter.

With tool tips in the client can we get the station info window to show icons only again on the services tab so we don't have to scroll or make the window bigger.

Is the stickiness of the tooltips when you move your mouse outside the playing window going to stay that way?

Are the fitting window module tool tips still missing in this build or are they being pushed back.

The hitpoints tooltips in the fitting window are not consistent.
Shield: "Shield hipoints and shield recharge time" Armor: "Armor" Structure: "Structure"
Should be Armor: "Armor hitpoints" Structure: "Structure hitpoints"

New build:
The tool tips on fitted items in the fitting window is backBig smile.
Now we just need a way to compare what we have fitted to what we have in our hanger and a way to switch them out from the tool tip.Twisted. Future iteration for the win.

The two other useability issues were not fixed. IE menu hack on scaled clients and the Overview loss of usability change.

Noriko's suggested change not implemented.

Hello. I don't know if this is the right place for my comment - but the tool-tips have 100% removed my ability to gather loot-spew from relic and data sites - and I can no longer profit from my expeditions.

I can not imagine a situation in which a tool-tip that only pops up on mouse-over could be better than all my information on-screen at once.

I think it looks nice, but I sincerely need a way of turning it off because I tried, but I can not play the game the way it's meant to be played under this circumstance.

Please keep up the good work, CCP. Thanks for making a great game.

THe most annoying thing for me that when i hover other ships on overview it shows me :

1!!!

THIS PLAYER HAVE BAD STANDING

( or something like this )

All items in those windows are not refreshing.
When i hover on someone else Ship this popup and show for example 52km away , and it show this 52km as long you keep mouse over this ship , he is 52km away ... but still you get a scramble.

Why if i select some NPC ships first thing i target is always the BEACON now?

I think that new tooltips are great exept the ones shown on objects in space. Old ones were better, they were smaller, transparent and appeared instantly. I do hacking alot and now i have to wait ~1 sec before the tooltip appears on the container that i want to pull in. And every second lost after succesful hack lead to significant ISK loss. I think those tooltips should be customisable or there should be possibility to change them to old style.
