For me, it's the other way around, since I've never gotten the hang of using sentry drones. I tend to move too much and have to fly back to them every time I want to send them back into the drone bay. Sometimes I even completely forget those things can't move, so I just sit there and wait for them to come back. And then the rats blast them apart while I'm a hundred km away. It's a disgrace.

Heavy drones + navigation computer for faster movement works a lot better for me. Plus my drone ships carry a few medium armor drones, just in case the drones get a bit scratched inbetween pockets.

Put two of them on a Stratios and you never have to think about what drone is best against what rat ever again. Ideal for exploration using wormholes: Regardless of what region you find yourself in, your rats are always the optimal ones. This leaves a lot of space for utility drones, like ECM and armor rep drones.

How did you get them yesterday?

Because EVE is in different time zones.

I got mine yesterday as well. They were released on 0001 EVE time, it's about 14 hours past that at this point.
