The Prophecy trailer showed off CCPs future vision involving infantry grunts being transported in actual ships that were tangible on the EVE client.
Alongside that we also saw infantry grunts duking it out inside orbital structures after having breached said structures.

Wether or not you think CCP can accomplish this vision I have to ask my fellow players: Is this something you are excited about and would love to see implemented?

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

Yep, looked alright, more interesting than being stuck on planets with barely any ties to the rest of the universe. I particularly liked the way they deployed together from a single starting point - if any development is done on WiS that would be a good place to start. Co-ordinated deployments within the game of Valkies, Dusties (or Legion) and Eve pilots would be amazing and should be at the centre of the philosophy when designing new games in the Eve universe.

Yes and it potentially adds an additional layer of operational complexity to the game that would be great - coordinating major battles in EvE with major battles in Legion and Valkyrie, between a single group of players.

That would be something very unique in gaming.

I'd like to see it happen, but it's not going to happen like the trailer made it seem. Trailers and pictures are flattering.

Actual fights in Eve are too infrequent to support a game in that way.

Despite how difficult it would be to create, YES, I would love for EVE to become closer to the trailer.

I think I had a trouser-accident

Though I didnt see it, the video that played in my head to that description was worth a trip to the NeX store for some clean ones

While I was screaming in the audience with glee during the presentation of the video, I do not see CCP implementing Valkyrie and Legion into battles with EvE until they have re-writing Dogma and removed the 1 second server tick.

I wear my goggles at night.

Well, there's nothing saying the impact of Valkyrie fighters can't be modelled in game, rather than displayed literally. It might lead to "magic damage" happening when in EVE you see a Valkyrie shooting a super carrier, but all your fighters start taking damage. I'm sure we can cope with it a bit of handwaving and utterances such as "fog of war" :)

Between the ideas of "A Future Vision" and "Prophecy" there is plenty of work to keep CCP occupied for the next decade. I'm still waiting for:

  • Dust Bunnies to be able to shoot back at spaceships;
  • Orbital infrastructure;
  • PvP interference in PI;
  • Air strikes; and
  • Beanstalks.

And to anyone from CCP reading: we have "Dust 514", "Valkyrie" and "Online". I think one of those EVE product names isn't like the others.

Legionnaires breaching structures...yes.

Legionnaires breaching cap ships.....no.

But I think we can ALL agree that being called a Legionnaire is far better than being called a DUSTBunny.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?
