Complete advocate of a premium sub for all access (or discounts if you don't want access to all three titles).

Let the scrubs enjoy their F2P crap. I'd rather pay for some quality thanks. :)

Having said that, CCP just threw 10 years worth of lore out the window. Why would a capsuleer, the elite of the elite, voluntarily go and do grunt work or sit in a drone? And turning it around, why does a stupid grunt soldier suddenly have the ability to become a pod pilot? Way to kill not only 1, but 2 story lines. Also the entire cloning thing is becoming old really fast. It's THE most overused plot device in the entire EVE universe.

The cloning thing is the entire foundation of the EVE universe that we play in.

The story is advancing: in the old days (the last ten years) we were using hand-me-down technology from the Jove which was specially downgraded to not give away too many secrets. Now there is The Other waging war against the Jove, leading us into Airikis (the right name's out there somewhere) to cannibalise the Sleepers. The Sleepers are Jove living in a VR world, downloading their consciousness to whichever body they want to use (but they usually say in VR space because that's more interesting).

One thing I'm curious about is how CCP intend to integrate the gameplay of EVE and Valkyrie. Valkyrie is an action space shooter, EVE is a tactical and strategic game played at a much lower clock frequency. Using DUST Bunnies to board ships and stations has been discussed before. Now it's just a matter of execution :)

can you elaborate for those of us not plugged in to Fanfest? Roll

Plan is to have your char be able to "change clothes" and go in FPS mode in Legion

You know its just going to be half the dudes swapping into Oculus/Valkyrie mode to stare at their character's breasts

... dreams of a new "Captain's Quarters" or "Corporate Lounge" in "LEGION"... and all the possibilities of easy character porting from one game to the other, and back, anytime.

... sighs a sexy little sigh and dreams some more....

Looking forward to the Iron Chef expansion, where you can out-sautée other capsuleers with your AUR-enhanced gourmet recipes.

I think OP misunderstood (unless I got it wrong?). It's not one character, it's one account for all 3 games. Perhaps much like Blizzard does it?

I can't imagine that a capsuleer would suddenly become a ground grunt or fighter pilot, etc...

You misundrstand. Tofi said, the gruistas have figured out a way to send a consciousness into four different clones. I.e. four different games, same person. They alsi mentioned playing all three simultaneously, no idea how that would work as it was an aside. You pretty much launch the launchet and chose which clone you with to activate. Up to four. I wonder if ccp has anothet game in hiding

The vision they presented was very specifically 1 character being able to play in any of the three games by jumping into the appropriate clone type.

Thanks, I'm not sure if I like this though. Just like one capsuleer can't do everything, I don't think a single character should be that multi-talented. It should simply be an account that controls multiple characters across the 3 games instead. When I jump into a Dust/Legion role.. i want to be that merc, not a high-brow space pilot pretending to also be a badass ground soldier.. :/ Just look at alts, this invalidates that whole idea...

I'm not an RPer, but I love the immersion and lore.. and this seems to 'gamey' to me.

Heck I'd be satisfied if each one of my 3 characters on my account could be devoted to a different game.

It's almost like CCP planned this from the beginning, and provided our characters per account with this very thing in mind. Big smile

Yeah, okay, okay, so planning ahead has not exactly been CCP's strong point up til now... but still, it makes a good story.

Seriously, when you create an account you could either devote a character to each game.... or you could play all the games with one character and just progress more slowly because your training que is now split between them.

Of course, I haven't seen this stream yet... so maybe you'll have multiple training ques per the new Guristas tech, who knows.

I do agree that arguments that capsules wouldn't dirty their hands with other things are a bit silly. When you're virtually (pun intended) an immortal you can damn well do anything that interests you. So if you personally find the idea of jumping into a power suit and kicking ass, or climbing into a fighter craft exciting... so might your capsuleer alter ego. The only difference being that they could easily do so with no risk, while you can only experience it via a game. Smile

Why would you ever think that an immortal would hesitate to take risks, or shy away from and exciting and dangerous activity.

They have all the time in the world to experience what ever type of adventure captures their fancy.

It definitely does feel too "gamey". It gives EVE sort of an arcade feel... it makes me feel really unclean.

This whole thing is really great, as long as you're not forced to use the same character (per account) on all 3 games. I want to be able to have a capsuleer training skills on EVE and for example another character training Dust skills and Valkyrie skills at the same time. Each account should have the possibility to run 3 skill queues simultaneously, one for each game, on different characters.

Even if the ability to use the same character in all 3 games is justified lore-wise thanks to the Guristas, it should remain an option for the player. The whole point of this is to combine the 3 games into a single universe and give the same in-game character the ability to be in different bodies, but it's still the same mind and soul behind that. And from a roleplay point of view, a capsuleer character isn't necessarily someone who would engage in an activity such as Dust mercenary, or the other way around.

I hope CCP takes this into account ! From the keynote, it seemed like they envisioned a launcher where you first select your character, then your game. That doesn't make sense to me. You should first pick your game, then select which character you want to play it with. Just makes more sense and allows for more options.

I hope Legion will not become some F2P crap like it was hinted in the survey! Tie it to EVE sub. +5 bucks or something.

It's F2P.
