I have to say that this year's live stream have been a really bad experience compare to the last few year's, audio problems, bad camera angle, out of focus cameras, direct feed digital glitch, and of cause that ******* idiot who pull the ******* cable during EVE keynote (who totally deserves to have his/her salary remove that day), and the overall anything but HD quality stream. the 20 bucks/1 plex was not worth it.

not really. yesterday i've talked to one guy who was thinking the same

actually: after watching fanfest for 2 days i still have yet to see a thing worth paying PLEX (read: something what really needs to use HD for this stream)

The HD stream looks a lot better on a bigger screen, it gets you immediate access to all the videos on demand, so you don't need to watch the shows live, and the in-game items you got are worth about a PLEX. It's only not worth it if you don't care about video quality, can afford to schedule your life around the stream or don't care when or if you even see the videos. For most interested in the fanfest stream though it's a good deal you have very little reason not to take advantage of.

…not to mention that the HD is essentially free if you're quick to go to market.

As for “disaster”… did anyone's computer and/or TV explode due to streaming errors? If the total number of injuries in those explosions <10, it hardly qualifies as a disaster.

Oh c'mon, that 10 seconds blackout was traumatic as frakk!

Millions of voices in my head suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

Sorry, but no. Last year two HD streams playing beautifully, this year, drop outs at small and medium sizes, not to mention amateur hour on the keynote last night.

And whats with not getting multiple streams this year? I loved the dev stream last year, much more interesting to me, only watched the keynotes on the main stream. Really disappointed that it wasn't done again this year.

Hi,

i think, i'm not alone with my opinion when i say, this year the Fanfest stream was a disaster until now. The first problems begun with the wrong link in the german Account Management page.

then yesterday we saw a bad Concep Art session, then the performance session was not show'n,audio problems and so on, today we get many black screens.

now i come home from a 10h work day and want to see the recorded keynote and there is only a 10h record where i must search for the right thing, in addition to this the records are shuttering. (With live stream i have no problems)

I am very disappointed and regret to have it a Plex invested What?

REFUND CCP failed to provide service..... submit your petitions!!!! They tried to play it off by saying it was just the ending you didn't miss anything. Sorry but if I go to a movie and they stop playing it before it's finished and tell everyone to leave they didn't miss anything, I'd want my money back.

Over all the footage this year has been horrible everything from feeds cutting out to horrible sound quality and last but not least the absolute worst camerawork. And I don;t care if it's in the youtube video, I didn;t pay for the youtube video.

Nope, it's more like (in fact identical to) a TV station / broadcast experiencing technical issues. You don't get your months subscription to cable/Sky free if the Simpsons lost a minute of air time, nor do you get your subscription to Netflix back for free if there's an error in playback.

FYI if your stream is stuttering on high bandwidths, it has nothing to do with CCP since they broadcast one resolution then Twitch re-size that on the fly.

You can try:

- Ctrl+F5 to reload the page, this will give you a new server
- Checking your bandwidth and latency
- Checking your flash; you often need to clear the cache and sometimes reboot
- In many cases, if it only drops out on the higher resolutions, it can be your ISP doing traffic management. You can access the stream through a VPN, where this problem is usually circumvented.

Anyway, I must say that I've found the stream a lot more stable and consistent this year than the last one. Then again, last year, my connection often behaved a bit oddly. Lol

I've watched the HD stream from the start, and is still watching.

Haven't had any issue.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Used a 55" screen and 23+Mbps service, but I have to agree: HD was not worth a PLEX. Resolution didn't seem that good all the time (yes "high" quality was selected), there were stutters and dropouts, and a yes bit more production quality would have been appreciated, but for me the Twitch service was the most annoying aspect of all. If there are ads then users shouldn't pay, if users pay there shouldn't be ads, period. The ad based free broadcast model has been employed for 60+ years and any service trying to scoop a little from *both* sides needs to be loudly and immediately routed. Part of the CCP HD deal *should* have been no ads, but Twitch forced us to watch an ad (often the same ad) *every* time a video, live or recorded, was started, including restarting broken or failed streams.

Add to that poorly organized recorded clip navigation and Twitch.tv was clearly a pretty poor choice.

I didn't really care that the quality of the so called HD was nothing but I just wanted the pimped up industrial and an in-game T-shirt seeing fanfest was just a bonus. PCool
