Eagle Worth it?

So the hybrid updates happen with the expansion as i can see. my questions is do you think the eagle is worth flying now?
and is viable solo? and viable in fleets?

The Eagle is so bad that the Deimos makes a better shield-tanked LR rail boat than it.

Besides which, its entire role has just been usurped by the Naga. Fly that instead.

well the obvious benefit to solo work is that nobody ever fought one before, so you have the fear factor going for you, as well as nobody knowing what your weak points are Pirate

i mean the hybrid update shoulda helped it greatly?



just comparing it to cerb, eagle has more ehp better starting resists more cap just a bit slower

eagle scan res is a bit less then cerbs and its sig radius is a bit higher

medium rail dps is PATHETIC. rails still require too much CPU and cant track for ****. no boat except the Proteus can fit a rack of 250mm's while having a decent tank.

i bought a Proteus to play with the new rails, 550dps and 150k EHP just aint worth the isk. im selling it and buying a Vindi. Vigi/Vindi remain some of the only decent hybrid platforms. large hybrids are fine imo.

Ripard Teg wrote a pretty good blog on this ship. Although the changes hadn't yet been implemented (just leaked) at the time of the writing, the points in it pretty well hit nail on the head.

The Eagle needs a fitting boost for 250s, and a significant range and damage bonus.

Oh, and agility and speed buff.
an extra low maybe

The Eagle goes for 87M and is traded (that includes resales) about twice a day in Jita. The Zealot is 122M and changes hands 50 times a day. Does that answer your question?

It's not a bad option considering that you can fit one out for 100M isk. Most of the eagles I saw in the past were blaster fit, and they weren't horrid.

They weren't very good either.

Agreed. The high resists on an Eagle make it a decent close in tackler, assuming you have logi support, but there are many more boats that do it better, so why bother with the Eagle.

Known sub-par ships (which the Eagle is one) are really only good in making the enemy over-confident. Therefore you "may" get more fights where you aren't blobbed or ecm'd to death, and actually stand a fighting chance. But alas it is T2, so it makes for good efficiency/isk war, so the sub-par argument may not apply quite so much. Get a Moa?
