i recently started playing eve again and ive always done null sec stuff to make isk, and worm holes. This time i dont want to be bogged down and just kind of want to do MY OWN thing with no ties or restraints.

I really dont know anything about missions… i have level 4’s from grinding them years ago but stopped at level 4 and really never touched them again.

What Marauder would be best to blitz these level 4 missions for Federation Navy? Isk isnt so much the issue i have a few bil left over.. i just want the most efficient ship for federation navy missions.

I can fly all 4 race marauders.. i know macherial is probably best but i want something that i can just go in, tank and blow **** up.

Thanks

Since most missions will be against Serpentis, I would use a Kronos as it can do 1200+ dps with faction ammo and hit out to 30km. If you switch to null ammo, you can easily hit targets out to 57km and still do about 1000 dps.

This is misleading as blasters certainly won't hit targets out to 57km while still doing 1000dps

You can expect 1200 at 20km with faction anti, and 600 at 60km with null.

True enough, but most Serpentis rats usually are close range with a few who sit at 40km range. However, with proper application of a MJD you can get right into the midst of your targets.

If you are looking for something that you can easy-mode through I would suggest a Cruise missile Golem.

Looking at a 1100DPS+ missile boat that has a 200km kill range. It's what I'm currently using and it works out great.

i can't say I've used them all for fed navy, but I have had extensive use of running fed navy missions on both the vargur and the kronos.

tldr; they both have their perks, but kronos nudges ahead by a small bit IMO. Quick summary:

Kronos > vargur:
* more kinetic dmg
* more flexible on range. Blasters or rails compared to just ACs cause arty sucks. ACs can be a bit annoying on certain missions like blockade or Massive Attack where rats like to be in irritating ranges.
* higher dps at close range, kronos is a champ at missions like damsel in distress.
* easy access to faction ammo
* better drone bay

Vargur > kronos:
* Resistance profile / tank is better v angels. Bonus room of AE is a breeze w/ a 2 mod + bastion tank, but ur blitzing so it doesn't matter much.
* offensive profile is better vs angels, drones, and sansha missions, but most missions are against serp and merc in my experience so its not a big issue.

As others here have stated, I would either recommend the Kronos or Golem. Flying a Golem myself, this will sound quite biased, but the main thing with the Golem I favor that the blaster Kronos has issues with is being able to apply consistant damage at ranges even exceeding locking range. Sure the Kronos has greater potential damage at arms length, but the Golem is no chump on offense either.

Also, assuming that some of the missions you may be offered might not always be Shadow Serpentis, the Golem is very flexible in terms of tank and offense.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

i cant say best as ive only tried them abit on sisi.

But for Fed Navy most your mission enemies will be serpentis. Serpentis 2nd weakest resist is therm which would also make a paladin a good mission killer.

Alternatively, the revised rattlesnake has all the signs of being a mission monster when released.

People are hypothesizing 1500 DPS with torps and ogres and 1100 Dps with cruise and sentries.
