In order to control prices.

What prevents CCP from controlling the way the game is going by "balancing", adding/removing features?

Not as much of a sandbox anymore is it?

They do

Where do you think BPOs come from?

And they alter mechanics all the time. Thats what patches and expansions do.

Whether there is a slide or a sandcastle or a pile of dogpoo in the sandbox doesnt stop it being a sandbox.

If you want a true sandbox, turn off the computer and go outside.

Guess who decides the spawn rates of various materials and goods? Guess why they occasionally adjust this?

I've been having a lot of fun using the Hide Posts From User feature of the forums these past few days.

I just undocked for the first time and someone challenged me to a duel. Wat do?

By this definition, no game is a sandbox. Go as far back as Ultima Online, even it had spawn/drop rates controlled by the devs. Even a Free Market needs a little bit of regulation :)

What prevents them to buy off all your pledges in order to drive the prices up? Then more people will want to buy more plexes irl because are gettin more isks, etc..

Nothing.

\Its their game, they can do what they want.

If they want to do that and self-destruct the market over night, thats their business

I enjoy the fact plex prices are skyrocketing. My isk wallet gets fat while my irl stays just as fat.

They should let us hide posts with certain keywords too. I was considering playing SC until I saw the remarks from fans here. If that's what their prospective playerbase looks like, eww.

Re OP, somebody page Dinsdale to thread to explain how devs brainwashed by nullsec cartels are already doing this (or will be, soon™), we're all doomed, yada yada

Who are you, and why are you so bad at internets?

I do not like the men on this spaceship. They are uncouth and fail to appreciate my better qualities. I have something of value to contribute to this mission if only they would realize it. - Bill Frug
