So what was the point of "Burn Jita?"

Goons just produce their stuff in their home systems. So any pricerise will be positive for them since they can sell their stuff for more. The corp/alliance's ships will just stay the same price since it has nothing to do with jita.

Fun. Emergent gameplay. Whoring on freighter killmails. Especially the first one.

I'd have to check the website for it, but IIRC over 50 billion worth in freighter hulls + assets were destroyed in the main market hub of the game over the weekend. That's the kind of emergent content that makes headlines, and is why the Goons should be praised for doing what they do. The fun that came with shooting dudes too ignorant to follow the metagame was a plus as well.

My killboard stats mutiplied 6 fold overnight and made me feel like a better fighter.

Also two dozen killrights on me... guess I won't be running highsec incursions for a while. Ouch :opportunity cost:

I was salvaging out in Jita while it burned. Judging from Local and the ships zipping around (and from Solecist's sec status), people were just have a great time. It felt like you were in a party.

Edit: I want to add that there are many ways to have fun where you end up shooting yourself in the foot. It doesn't mean you realize the consequences while you're going nuts. I guess you can think of the inflated prices and market chaos as a hangover.

Then I flew into 4-4........
