It is a guristas drone so i think it will be available in guristas LP store.

I'm beginning to think the Gecko is "real" (i.e. hybrid fighter/drone.) The Giving Drones an Assist dev blog specifically mentions Guristas faction mods for drones. We have the Guristas super drones concept in the summer pirate ships overhaul. CCP Explorer just stated that Omni's moving to a 30 second cycle was for performance reasons. Then we have the "void" in ship classes. Etc.

So if CCP is overhauling and otherwise paying so much attention to Guristas and drones, we very well may see some kind of pirate sub-cap combat carrier based on "heavy drones" instead of current paradigm of RR capital carriers with fighters and/or sentries.

And I'll go out on a limb and say that if this "pocket carrier" is successful, they'll expand it to the Empires as one step along the road to "fixing" caps/super-caps.


Also, since pretty much every "ship" type game is based on WWII ship classes, CCP has probably realized that a carrier sub-cap ship available to the masses (err pubbies) would be a hit.

Which would imply that CCP may be considering the removal of the super-drone hull bonus in favor of a straight up super-drone, which would have the advantages of freeing up a hull bonus, would be another way to increase Pirate LP store popularity (i.e. isk sink, more reason to mission for Guristas, etc.), and would eliminate the contention about the Rattlesnake's loss of bonused lights and medium drones (assuming the release of light and medium super-drones,) as well as being a consumable in general.

hence I foresee that Heavy drone operation will get split into heavy and heavy attack drone skills.
