POS Fuel Blocks

Hey guys

I have been looking at the POS fuel Blocks and found that per 1 run they produce 40 blocks for what seems to be heaps less POS fuel materials then we would use now for 40 hours.

So in short 40 blocks for;

  • 8x Coolant
  • 4x Enriched Uranium
  • 420x relevant racial Isotope
  • 4x Mechanical Parts
  • 21x Oxygen
  • 1x Robotics
  • 158x Heavy Water
  • 158x Liquid Ozone

Is this correct? Seems heaps cheaper to run a pos then the current system???

Cheers

check out the prices on heavy water and ozone. Basically people used to keep structures offline to save on fuel costs. however with the new block system in place it uses the full amount of those fuels whether or not all the modules are on and off.

So price to operate is about the same.

Why Can't I have a picture signature.

Also please support graphical immersion, bring back the art that brought people to EvE online originaly.

I understand that but here is the part that you missed.

Quote:
The four racial fuel blocks will be built in batches of four in all stations, plus star base ammo assembly arrays (blueprints coming to a Thukker Mix station near you; build time approximately ten minutes). Each batch of four will need the following components:

8x Coolant
4x Enriched Uranium
400x relevant racial Isotope
4x Mechanical Parts
20x Oxygen
1x Robotics
150x Heavy Water
150x Liquid Ozone

Towers will use 1 block/hour for small, 2 blocks/hour for medium and 4 blocks/hour for large. The CPU and Power load will no longer have any impact on your fuel needs - all towers now need the same amount of fuel, regardless of configuration.

Taken from here http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=3029

So Per that bill of materials you can make 40 fuel blocks which means that you don't require 1 robotics per hour.

Is this interpretation correct?

large towers eat 40 blocks, medium 20, small 10 .. yes compared to before medium and small require less robotics.

yeah they made and update to the blog later on to account for faction towers which are now back in game.

also i cant seem to put fuel blocks in my tower.

Fuel blocks wont be brought into effect for another 2 week about if you read the dev blog i linked it says how they are going to implement it.

right now I am hearing issues of people getting or trying to fuel thier blocks up but the POS isnt accepting them.

Dust 514's CPM 1 Iron Wolf Saber Eve mail me about Dust 514 issues.

That's because its not been changed over from the old system till 2 weeks after this last expansion

No we're supposed to be able to start shoving the new blocks in so when it does swap over the POS doesnt offline. Currently the POS isnt accepting the 50/50 fueling.

This, the way i read the blog it said we can start making blocks now and put a lot in so when the change does happen it will be seamless and towers wont go offline.

This and that.

I trust CCP's aware of this and will get it corrected before the switch... right CCP?

Um... CCP? Am I right?

You should be able to put the blocks in now but there is a bug that they are fixing.

I'm giddy as a school girl about the fuel swap.

Screw this up POS operators.

I took the day off to look for offline POS's.

Trying to grasp the new POS fuel block concept.

I run a reasonably tight POS and offline modules when not in use, to save POS fuel.
Currently operating at about 40% of power grid, and 60% of CPU.

If I understand the new mechanics properly, my operating costs are going up significantly since the new fuel block system assumes I am running at 100% grid and 100% CPU all the time.

Is that accurate? Please tell me I am wrong.

And correctfully wrong at the same time...

Hay everyone, it turns out that this fuel block thing is going in with the summer expansion instead. Don't worry about fuel blocks for now. I have it under good authority there will not be a switchover for several months.
