Well, not much sympathy for the Devil here. You must of been sitting there or traveling really slow to have NPC's target and warp scram you at the gate.

NPC's are much slower on the trigger compared to actual players and most players when traveling will warp to 0 anyway. Sounds like the new AI has beat you at your own game.

i have to agree that once an incursion starts in lowsec the whole area is rather empty for the next week. Amamake had about a third of the population as the last incursion in the auga area started. Its just a pain to roam around since the NPCs don't follow normal eve fitting rules + killing them is a lot of effort while having no rewards (compared to a player driven gatecamp).

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

What bugs me is that in both null and low they scram at gates yet in high sec they don't. Should probably petition that to get them to scram in high sec to as its clearly broken.

I don't think that's unfair.
Why would it be?

How do you quantify unfair anyway?

You know what's unfair?

I completely agree with this.

It makes no sense that they don't.

As is I would like incursion rats not to be able to scramble at warp gates.

I'd very much like them to do this in HS too...

I will try to keep my words to an minimum. Forgive my poor grammar and spelling.

I think its a little unfair that incursion "rats" can scramble at warp gates.

I was in low sec. Entered a system with incursion "rats" that were spawned at the gate.

I was only trying to pass through the system. Tried to warp to the next gate at the other end of the system, and before I could warp I was scrambled by the incursion rats.

I think that is a little unfair. I was in a Flycatcher for pete's sake. Not a slow ship but not the fastest.

I am open to anybody's thoughts. Be them for or against this.

As is I would like incursion rats not to be able to scramble at warp gates.

If you are flying in low sec, you should be prepared to be scrammed at a gate, no matter if it's peopleor npcs. You not being properly prepared is not the game's fault.

I would support it to but omg the level of crying that would insue would shut down the interwebs.

I can't remember which DEV it was but I remember clearly that he said they talked extensivley about doing that (incursion rats on gates, along with other things like disabling CONCORD in incursions constellations) and decided against it when developing Incursions. Thus we have high sec incursions where CONCORD and the npc navies won't fight the people puportedly invading sovereign space but that will still shoot the crap out of a capsuleer who fires a civilian gatling gun at someone.

I guess there would be some kind of distress, yes Blink.

Back in 2010, when all that started and people didn't know how to handle incursions, I would agree.

But they are just being farmed in 2014 and deserve some iteration.

This is not true, Incursion NPCs on a gate can isnsta-scram (no difference whether low or null). It's like flying through a player gate camp where they are remote sensor boosting somone. Incursion rats are the reason I fit a couple warp core stabs to mu nullfied travel fit Tech3s when i need to pass through, I've had 2 instances of being scrammed by rats coming out of gate-cloak even though I wasn't slow to engage my ship's covert cloak.

To date I have yet to have that happen when passing though a 'real person' gate camp in a covert.

Glad we all agree on something.

I'll spread a few more posts around and change it tomorrow ...

And who is the first to make a thread in F&I about rats scrambling in HS?

Incursion rats actually have a super-fast lock time. Frigates and interceptors get through fine, anything else needs to be warping cloaked or doing the MWD trick.

As someone posted above, they are meant to be highly disruptive. The only reason there is no highsec equivalent to this is because the tears would put Iceland under water.

No to gate guns, CONCORD, faction police, navy?

Not trolling just putting that out there :)
