Or dangle them behind your ship on chains like some morbid comet trail.

Let's strap them to our drones so that it looks like the corpses are riding them.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. You don't get yours until I get my patented "Rapid Light Corpse Launcher". Cool

As of now, corpses in EVE only serve as trophies and collectible items. They really serve no purpose and carry no real value beyond the sentimental value to the owner. When a ship is destroyed, part of everything inside of it is dropped. When a capsule with implants is destroyed nothing is dropped. Because capsules with implants often are quite valuable and can cost more than a capital ship, it would only make sense that at least some of the implants should be accessible to the killer. It would be great if players could reprocess corpses (eliminating them in the process) for some of the implants that they contain. The implants are physically inside of the corpses as it is. Corpse reprocessing would make pod kills even more valuable and add a degree of surprise to pvp.

There have been several ideas on this subject and I agree with you.
There should be a functional use for corpses, be that salvaging of a random number of implants, or using the corpse in a biochemical process which generates drugs.

Make salvage modules usable on live unpopped pods, when the roll succeeds the pod dies and you have a chance to get some of the implants (and a guaranteed criminal timer).

(on second thought this should go in the "Horrible oneliner ideas" thread)

ccp already started to make implant BCs, maybe you could salvage corpses for materials for those implants, instead of implants themselves

If they won't let us have that, then i want a corpse launcher as a christmas gift. Hardly anything beats launching corpses in all colors for christmas / new year's celebration.

Corpses are still nice to collect, they are also the best grid-fu component as they rarely show up on anyone's overview. I'm down for body collecting, but it would totally have to be low chance + some cost.

Tell you what I do like though: A killer. A dyed-in-the-wool killer. Cold-blooded, clean, methodical and thorough.

With our advanced medical technology, we should be able to revive the corpse and turn it into a working (yet unstable) clone.

You can jump into this clone, and it will be active for around 2 hours, during this time your character has the name, standings and corp membership of the player who died.

TL;DR

A long time ago, this was going to be a feature. CCP wanted you to be able to salvage implants form corpse's and or turn the bodies into parts to make new implants. Neither of which ever came to fruition

I wish corpses would be named after they get podded.
As it stands, it just ''generic male'' or ''generic female'' corpse.

Anyways, since corpses are so goddam cheap and replaceable, why do we even have them in the first place? space littering? will there be a CONCORD fee for littering in space?

That will teach those nasty bastards that always leave wreck after they explode in space.

The high value of implants would in part be directly countered and reduced by the introduction of recycled implants to the market.
Pod ransoming would take a hit, if thats even a thing.

Just had another disturving thought...
How about a Drug that requires corpses to produce?
Or a Jovian pirate faction who trades ISK or LP in exchange for clone corpses for their research?

Retrievable implants sure

Selling corpses or using them as materials no, they are far to easy to produce with a willing participant.

There are probably less than a few hundred major corpse collectors. Most corpses are not picked up as it is. Even with a change many corpses will be missed. Most pods are empty, some have pretty cheap implants, and only a few have really good implants. Given that there would be a slight chance of reprocessing the implants at a significant isk cost, I do not think that this would effect the implant market that much.

I collect corpses.
