Active shield tank Rattlesnake or armor tanked Domi?

I've got around 17mil SP spread around armor, shield, drones, and all the core skills. I've also got pretty decent gunnery and missile skills.

That being said I currently have a Rattlesnake that either has a terrible fit or I just can't manage to fly correctly but I struggle with several level 4 missions. Someone suggested I scrap the active shield tanked Rattlesnake and go with an active armor tanked Domi for level 4 missions.

I fly mostly Gallente security missions if that makes any difference (I don't think it does).

What do you guys think? Rattlesnake or Domi for level 4 missions? Armor or Shield? Both will utilize my level 5 drone skills (most all drone skills are to level 5).

I'd agree, this should probably be in ships & modules.

I have to say, though, that there is probably something wrong with your fit, if you are having problems with the Rattler. I've never been fond of it, but it's quite capable of doing level 4's with ease.

You might post your fit.

Take the Domi. Not because it's "better", because it's cheaper. Thus, fewer people will harass you in your missions, and when you do something dumb like answer the door and then forget you were in the mission without double-checking that your warp actually initiated, there will be more shrugging and buying another ship and less tearing your clothes and screaming unholy vengeance upon the skies.

Clear times and so one should be pretty much the same.

After the changes in June the rattlesnake will gain a huge buff to damage output and so be clearly superior to the domi for PVE.
3 mission specific hardners and a XL or L shield booster should carry you through any HS mission with ease considering Ravens can easily manage with no resist bonus , a smaller native tank and lower damage output.

Rattlesnake post summer, domi for the time being.

Rattler will be able to push out about 1200 dps after summer, navy domi can do in the range of 900-1100. Both can tank all LV4s without trouble (T2 fits)

Or...you could be a baller and run mission runners instead of running missions. Just sayan.

Note that you can fit a (Navi) Domi with a shield tank as well and pass the magical 1000 DPS number.

Rattlesnake post summer is useless for missions.

It will lose the ability to deal with frigates and mostly cruiser, by having all it's light and medium drone bonuses removed.

It will lose range on missiles in trade for the damage specific damage bonus, some like short range I know, but need more tank and will make it harder than it already is to add Target Painters and Tracking Computers which are now much more needed.

Good bye shield tanked drone boat, the game does not have anything else like you and now you are becoming useless :(.

My MJD-fit Rattler and Domi both handle elite frigates just fine, especially when they MWD to get into range.
