Minimum Speed Needed for Naga

Before anyone posts "Caldari Fail" or "Rail-boats suck" or "The tornado is better...." I don't care. Now that we have that taken care of:

I've got it in my head that my new favorite ship in the game is the Naga. That said I intend to do as much in it as I can. My idea is that since it has huge range, and great mobility I want to take advantage of those things.

Can anyone tell me, or has anyone tried to identify: what is the minimum speed necessary given the naga's sig radius to get missile damage from mission/belt rats to 0 (or as close to it as possible?)

The reason I ask is b/c I have a fit (below) that gets me to range and then keeps me moving at range while I plink away at the rats.

TL;DR - minimum speed to speed tank rats in a Naga?

Medium Semiconductor Memory Cell I
Medium Low Friction Nozzle Joints I
Medium Auxiliary Thrusters I

Speed at all lvl 5:
AB 592 m/s
MWD 1487

DPS is 609 at 62+39

Cap stable at 52% w/ AB on, no implants (but i might invest in Halo's/Snakes if it makes it viable)

Thanks for any ideas/suggestions

675m/s pushes Bane Torps down to like 25 a hit on a mach......

.....but damn dude that is NO tank.

Not sure really, I don't feel like playing with the numbers I've been cranking Diff EQ eqations for three hours.

Honestly, I think it could easily be used for PvE. The following fit is what I would personally use...

[Naga, ddd]
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

10MN Afterburner II
Invulnerability Field II
Invulnerability Field II
Tracking Computer II
Cap Recharger II

I have personally never used rails for ratting, but in 0.0 you will find that they can hit probably everything apart from frigates (so when u land in the belt just target them down as they approach you and you should be laughing). I wouldnt use 2 TCs as like i said, only frigates are going to be anoying, and you could have 5 TCs and you still wont hit them orbiting.

Oh, and also, dont test fits using faction ammo, unless you want to really minimise the isk you make.

Orbit at like 50km with the AB running and you should be golden against most battleships, if not all. Permaruns and has enough HP that you should be able to take out the damage before you are broken.

They aren't for much period.

It's like flying a balloon in a needle factory.

As far as Im aware, there is no point in fitting two tracking comps with opposite scripts, they will cancel each other out, you are better off leaving them unscripted.

That + try blaster. 1300 DPS @ 16km + 4km With Void Shocked 1.3km / sec.

If it's for Belts, I'd go that way.

2X more DPS
4X more Tracking

You'll pop the Belt before you'd kill one NPC with Railguns :p

And you don't have to bother with tank, although you can bring a better one. I tryed something like that on Sissi :

[Naga, Blast]
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

10MN Microwarpdrive II
Invulnerability Field II
Invulnerability Field II
Photon Scattering Field II
Large Shield Extender II

I like the input so far, but it hasn't addressed the real question.

Whether or not the DPS is enough, whether or not TC's cancel out, whether or not to use Blasters is beside the point (although I do appreciate the input.)

The real question is: can the Naga move fast enough to avoid (or minimize) damage from belt/Mission rats shooting missiles.

I know I can get to a speed where turrets miss 99% of the time, and I'm fine with orbiting for 30 minutes and shooting my rails with expensive faction ammo and not being the best ISK/Hr grinder. But I'd like to know if avoiding missile damage is possible for this ship.

Again, thanks for the info and posts so far!

I know you dont care, but even so, this desperately needs to be said before any more lives are lost:

Caldari FAIL!

and also,

Rail boats SUCK!

and FTW:

The Tornado is BETTER!
