I get random lockups/freezing as well. It will work fine for hours at times but then out of nowhere everything in EVE will freeze up.

Constant freezes here as well across my 3 [paid] separate installs. All full installs, not linked in any way. Previous to Crucible everything was working perfectly.

Opened a support ticket, and it was suggested I remove the prefs, made no difference.

Downloaded a new full client - nearly 8hrs and a huge lump of my monthly allowance, even that doesn't work as it won't open - I just get a 4096 error - iirc.

So Eve is currently unplayable for me, my 3 paid accounts are a total waste of money.....can't think of any reason to re-sub tbh !

I wanted to clarify that for me, the client isn't freezing, it's disconnecting. I have auto restart set so the game relaunches. One thing I notice is the server status sometimes takes several seconds to go from 'unknown' to 'ok'. In my situation it really seems that I'm simply losing server connection. My Internet connection is solid, however. I have removed my ~/library/app-support/ ... folder with no positive impact.

The game is unplayable for me now. I have 6 accounts and have stuff to do. This is extremely disheartening. Cry

That's it. I'm done. I'll check back once a day to update my PI (if I can squeeze it in before freezing) and see if anything is fixed. I won't actually try to do any real gaming as it is futile. If it isn't fixed by the time my subscription runs out I'll just let it lapse. Damned shame, as it is a great game.

I just resubscribed the day after Crucible and while unsubscribed I switched to Mac, so I have no experience with the client until now and my first impression is pretty bad.

So I'm also going to unsubscribe (again) if this isn't fixed. It's too bad, because otherwise I think this is a great expansion.

I like EVE, but I'm not going to pay for something I can't play, and I have plenty of games to play on my PS3 right now.

Yep, it looks like I got the same freeze thing going on too.

Was fine the last few days then today I was warping to the sun and it just froze up mid warp. Scary part was after sitting on the frozen screen for a bit, force restating, then re-loging after the boot, my ship was just sitting there at 0 on the sun. It never warped off after the disconnect?Shocked

This happened on my last freeze-up/disconnect. My ship did not enter warp. I was just sitting on the gate and did not warp as I reentered the game.

I was able to get a crash log when i disconnected once this evening. Like a few others, i could not get the debugging command to work properly with the redirect, so i just let it stream to the terminal. Perhaps this will help a bit.

Try this: remove the EVE Online folder from your library. You will lose all of your overview settings and game settings will revert to default, but the game plays properly for me for about an hour. After that something becomes corrupted and I have to do it again.

Does this happen to anyone else?

BTW, the Library is hidden in OSX Lion. If you open your Finder, press "option" as you click "Go" and the Library will appear. You can then find your EVE Online folder in Application Support. Just drag it to your desktop to see if it works for you as well.

I also played a while (well, not really played, but fooled around waiting for it to lock up) and had no problems except abysmally bad performance in CQ.

It downloaded a patch, so maybe that fixed it?

After the initial update to Crucible, EvE actually performed better than before—even the notorious crashes that came during every docking with CQ turned on were gone. Then the two patches arrived, and the crashes are back. Thankfully, the game seems stable in while in space. Still though... getting tired of the Mac version clearly being sort of an afterthought in so many ways.

I was unable to repeat the success of my experiment (temporarily playing freeze free by removing the EVE Online folder from my Library). My client constantly froze on my last attempt to play. I couldn't play more than two minutes without a freeze.

It froze:
1) When I undocked from a station
2) When I warped away from a gate
3) Accessing my hangar
4) In normal flight
