No, I think they made an error in your case. That doesn't mean they aren't usually right in most cases.

Like I said in the post directly above yours, there's a right way to approach your problem. What you're doing will only lead to frustration. Just trying to help...

Sometimes an ISD can get a bit worked up (or on a roll) and accidentally throws a few babies out with the bathwater.

There's a million angry citizens looking down their tubes..at me.

So why arent legitimately trolling threads (cause this was so serious -.-) getting it then

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

as an indy toon i must disagree with this topic or at least the idea the OP has behind it. An ultrasec area with ability to provide minerals and stuff to the rest of EvE would be disasterous to the economy. Such an area would HAVE to require no ability to affect it meaning no useful minerals, no ability to uild stuff, no bounty from rats...absolutely no way to make isk or build anything at all.

Otherwise the only solution to it would be everyone includng thos of us indy guys that enjoy eve for what it is would be to camp and gate that leads to this ultrasec and destroy anything that comes out of it ofr just the simple reason it is entering our beloved home.

I dont like some things in this game for their metagame ability.........but even i would definitely shoot you on site for this thread. Go back to your theme park games, you deserve to be ganked. and Quit trying to ruin EvE.

We all know the OP is referring to a zone much like in wow where players can't attack each other.

If you like the WoW system so much, why don't you go play WoW? Or ESO, ToR, GW2, Rift, Runescape, FFXIV, Neverwinter, STO, DCUO, TSW, AION, or LoTRO?

The ENTIRE MMO industry, with the exception of EVE, offers exactly what you're looking for. Why do you insist on trying to turn eve into one of *those* games instead of just finding the mmo that fits your needs?

This. If a "safe zone" is such a big freaking dealbreaker for you, then go play a game that has that kind of crap. Stop trying to ruin the things that we like about this game.

Threads like this are why the forums need a bounty/dislike button. Twisted

Highsec is fine as it is, it's safer than it ever has been. The more people push for it to be safer, the more the people who make it interesting will push back; so will those of us that appreciate Eve for what it is, but who don't usually indulge in shooting people in the face.

If people want a spaceship game with the possibility of next to zero PvP, they should hop on the Star Citizen bandwagon and use the PvP slider. There's also Elite Dangerous which is worth looking at because Elite. Unless they absolutely suck I'll be playing both of them, as well as Eve, but for entirely different reasons.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

It's only your opinion that it would be disastrous. It might be disastrous "to you", but only because you choose to make it so. You would have the option to not care about the veldspar mined in the Ultra-Sec.

If 1% of all empire space was converted to "Ultra-sec", it's hard to imagine, at least for me, this being a "disaster".

Nope. It's not only his opinion. Its an opinion shared by many.

To extend that opinion, anyone calling for a non-pvp area should just dock up and never leave CQ. That or HTFU.

For all I care, create a non-pvp area, but accompany it with the level of reward commensurate with the risk. Remove all asteroid fields for example. No mission agents either and no moons or planets. Just empty space systems consisting of a sun and jump gates.

Then it would be balanced with other areas of space.

Of course it would sweetie, not least the load on the servers as there would be less folk playing the game.

Hi-sec is as valid a part of the game as whatever part of it you play in.

The one thing I have never got used to in this game is folk behaving like kids wanting others to play their way or no way.

This is not a signature.

Meh. Whether I'm allowed to or not is immaterial. Thankfully CCP share the view that teddybear land is not needed in EvE.

thanks to everyone for posting

1. this thread is not a troll, i was asked a question and looked to you for the answers, you stepped up and gave me what i wanted so thank you.

2. to me it seems that everyone is scared that ultra-sec would destroy the game, the only thing it would destroy, in my opinion is ship ganking and for a lot of you that is not on, your not worried about eve your worried that your style of killing pilots would end.

3. i agree zero risk zero reward but there is risk, i am certain of one thing and that is the eve community WILL find a way to get round the rules and ruin another players day.

4. WOW- i keep seeing this used as a slur, but having never played it the reference is lost on me.

5. personally if ultra-sec appeared i would not enter it. my game play style is follow incursion runners about and jump into mom sites and block logis hoping to see the mom win.

6. to me it seems that the only people crying about this idea are the players who like to kill unarmed ships.

So? That is a playstyle supported by CCP, why should it just disappear? Because people don't want to bother with defending themselves? Free tip, slick, there already is a game for those people, it's called Star Trek Online.

It wouldn't disappear. High Sec would still exist as an area of operation for people to execute their desired playstyle.
