Where in New Eden do you call home?

I'm new to the Universe and I'm wondering where people "live" in New Eden? Does everyone keep all their stuff at one locations or do you spread it around to multiple stations? How do you travel and explore the universe when it's so difficult
to bring along your belongings? How did you decide to pick a "home"?

Thanks. Just some questions I had coming from a new player.

I typically live where most of my activities take me, in this case my manufacturing. I keep most of my stuff in a single station, but then again most of it is going to stay there permanently.

It really just depends on what you want to do, missions will generally make your home mission hubs, manufacturing is best in stations with factorizes in them and not a lot of other players to compete with so you will generally make your home in a low population system. Exploration generally doesn't lend it self well to homes unless you stay in a particular area or a wh. And 0.0 tends to be whatever home your alliance has.

My assets are split.

I have about ten billion in goods at the biggest trade hub (Jita), six billion or so in productive capital at my manufacturing station, a couple billion at each of my invention stations, and an amount that varies from two to fifteen billion in goods at my main trade station.

Then I have two PVE ships that move as needed, a range of PVP ships I consider disposable in strategic locations, and dozens of ganking ships on top of that.

As for recommended homes:

Highsec low skilled PVE - Simela
Highsec high skilled PVE - Apanake
Trading in high - Jita, Amarr, Dodixie, Rens or Hek
Lowsec - Solitude region

I have assets in more than 40 stations I guess. But I have two main stations which are full of ships and other stuff I frequently use. I'm in Gallente FW, so those two bases are in the northern and southern parts of our warzone.

I use Red and Black Frof Logistics to carry my stuff around or rarely haul them around by myself.

Edit: Added stuff...

This character lives in Cloud Ring, my alliance holds sov there. But coalition level logistics mean we can deploy pretty much anywhere, and I've barely been 'home' in the past year. Go where the fights areLol

I've mostly consolidated my assets in three locations;

- one base in low-sec... which is where I primarily live
- one base in high-sec... where I have essentials for if/when I lose everything and need to "start over"
- one base out in NPC null-sec... mostly stocked with ammo and some basic PvP mods in case I ever feel the need for something different

I live where my crop lives - Amarr/Minmatar faction warfare low sec. Been living there since my account was 2 weeks old. For some time Balshem (this is an alt - I just started to use forums with it and never bothered to change) used to live near Amarr high sec capital, but I moved him to FW space to help my main with missions.

Balshem lived in high sec long enough to do some level 3 missions, because beginnings in eve can be frustrating.

If you want to plan your next move based on other players experience - best way for a newbie would be to join a good educational corp that does stuff you want to do, and move in with them. This way you get tons of info and training. The place really isn't important. If your corp guarantees they will show you a way to make money in null sec with when your account is 1 day old - sure, go ahead and join them.

PS - I did initially leave my all high sec assets in the newbie system. People who distrust strangers live longer ;-)

I try to keep Items and ships to a minimum, only keeping what is needed at the time, or some speciality stuff like memorabelia. I do have bits and pieces all over eve tho.
Was in Null sec for a long time, pretty much fought everywhere for everyone so have a few ships and things in most regions (always seem to come back eventually). Keeping assets low just made for fast, easier moving.
I mostly roam around doing whatever takes my fancy now (mmm stratios) but have a couple of bills worth of things in amarr.

I like the nomad life, i go from one side of space to the other quite frequently, in and out of wh and see where i end up. Home is my ship....

I had a "home" for the first two years I played. Moved all my stuff everytime I went somewhere else.

Then it just became too much. At the same time, more and more of it was located outside high-sec.

I now have stuff all over the place. I jump around the "shiny" ships I'm very familiar with. The stuff and ships I acquire during a certain stay just remains wherever it is. Ready for the next time I'm visiting.

I'm predominantly an industrialist, so my main 'home' is where I manufacture/invent, etc. Most of my stuff's there. There's secondary homes in a mining system (haven't been there in weeks), in a couple of mission-running systems, at a nearby trading hub and a couple of other places.

I dislike having stuff scattered across the galaxy, so periodically I'll go on a consolidation exercise and reduce the number of stations I have stuff in.

This.
I feel very much like Thiesant chars. Unfortunately we both like same high sec system for manufactoring, and as she came there first, she occupied all invention lines for good next few weeks. Thats why i consider to start shooting local adandoned POSes to get myself some room. As soon, as you build your own POS you have your own home.

Mostly I live in Wormhole space.

When I'm in HS I have two PVE hubs where there's a navy domi waiting for me.
I also have a fairly large amount of my assets in Amarr, because I like that market hub.

Oh, I have about 10-15 PVP ships at the edge of a FW (faction warfare) lowsec with a jump clone in case I want to play around in lowsec.

home is where the corp HQ is, I have *permanent* assets in a mission hub and building towards permanent assets in another. I'll never do the big "move a bunch of crap" thing again, and if I do, Red Frog here I come.

To the OP, this is an easy question to answer. Do what you do, and where you stuff ends up call home.

I used to drag all my belongings with myself when i lived in big alliances but it proved highly impractical. You need to have place where you make money as stable as posssible. Nowdays i keep most of my wealth in high sec as trade capital and minimal nescessary equipment to farm is in wormhole.

Calling something "Home" became more irelevant the more i knew about eve. I rather place stuff and alts where i can properly utilise them than all in one place. For example trading alts in all mayor trading humbs....

Me and my buds live in a quaint little C4 Wormhole. Its a beautiful Binary system.

I have several bases throughout known space (K-Space) that i keep various replacement ships in (my golfbags, if you will); which ones i use depends on where my static opens.

I mostly only go in town to buy supplies before heading out to the "wild west."

I try to consolidate my stuff in a single place in equidistance to the spots I regularly do stuff in. Doesn't always work though.

Remove standings and insurance.
