What if there was an option to create a character that cannot buy clones, dock, or travel in high sec? A free to play character slot.

This character starts with skills needed to fit and fly a strategic cruiser. they will be able to train the skills they already have, but cannot buy or train new skills. Also, if podded they start over from scratch NO CLONES.

They would start in one of the Factional Warfare corporations. They can join a player corp, but only if the player corp has joined Factional Warfare, if the corp leaves the player goes back to the NPC fw corps.

They can not enter High sec space.

They can not dock. if they want to buy something from the market it has to be delivered to a new deployable thingie, or even to a mobile depot. Maybe make them spend AUR on a mobile depot delivery. Also allow them access to the LP store and Faction agents in space ...some how.

I don’t know, what do you think?

Because every freshly rolled character will have enough isk to buy a tech 3 ship and properly fit it!

so what t3 are we talking here?

Are we talking link booster out of the box?
+Logi?
+E-war?

Hell of a free char you are giving away here really. Link booster is the most troublesome. Until ogb fixed....link alts tend to not go boom as often. The link alt is already too common...does eve need to make it even easier to have? At least currently you need 1.4 billion to plex a basic 2 man setup with link alt.

Also what is with no empire and FW only. 0.0, wh, piracy....they'd have none of these options. Not running in a fw corp and hoping the say wh corp they roll with as well knows not to shoot them for example anyway.

Now I can awox and farm lp with no risk. Even if EvE itself became f2p - it would become alts online

bad troll 3/10

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

SevenOfSix, When you come up with a new (or not so new) idea, rather than running to post it on the forums, Please look at it from a different point of view first... it will help you decide if its worth posting.

I'm sure you saw things in this idea that you would use in the game, but you really need to look at it from the 'how can this be abused' side!!!!!

I'd really like to think this is a troll if only because I don't want to believe that someone would seriously suggest such a outstandingly bad and abusable idea.

Go back to star-trek online.

On a serious note: Imagine blotting out the sun with free to play 900k SP suicide alts. Free to play would wreck trade hubs.

You're suggesting that someone be given a ship without the ability to fly it anywhere?

I do not mean to be to critical, but I can think of ways to exploit that, especially if I was flying in faction warfare space.

On top of that, CCP would not want to encourage such free play. It could make new players to be chased away from flying in faction warfare if such pilots existed.

Just for argument's sake: If they were to even do such a ridiculous allowance, it would never be strategic cruisers. Navy faction frigates would be more likely, because this is faction warfare, not wormholes or null sec.

I like it. Make the free T3 a Legion with covert-subsystem and forbid those F2P-schmucks from ever changing the subsystem. Just to help them out, you see. Eve can be scary if you don't have clones. Also make that Legion spawn with officer-fits, please. (No reason, just make it so.) Following your suggestion, they won't have the cloaking skill, of course. Since that is technically not really needed to fly a Legion, the covert-subsystem just "allows" to use a covert cloak, after all. It doesn't demand it.

By the way, aren't there a lot of stations and agents of the FW corporations in HighSec? Those players of yours would be unable to use about half the agents and stations of their own FW corp, since they can't enter HighSec. Now this is the kind of cruelty I can support. Death to F2P! Wait, you are against F2P, right?

Free-to-play games bring in all kinds of unwanted human trash.

I'm not even being abusive here. A very significant number of the people you see in those games should be forcibly biomassed.

..and OP wants that kind of diseased filth here in EVE? No thank you.
