Dual boxing lvl4 options

Hello,
returning after couple of years.
Before I used to dual box lvl4 on 2 monitors with 2x HML Tengu (each ship own mission).
After HML nerf I switched to HAMs, but it's not possible to dual box anymore.
Now options I see are:
1. Get Noctis on second account and salvage/loot after HAM tengu. With salvage drones and MTU it should be AFK process I guess.
2. Swap to sniper CNR on both accounts, MWD to safe distance and shoot everything with 150km cruises.
3. Train for Golems on both accounts, enter bastion and just lock->fire and repeat. Also possibility of salvage/loot.

Question is what is still manageable and most efficient ISK/hour. I would prefer 2x HAM Tengu as I love this ship, but it requires lot of flying around and planning to maximize DPS.
Thanx a lot.

Hi, welcome back!

Take a look at a couple of sentry Dominixes. MJD + bunch of drone modules. You'd be surprised.

Never used sentries before. Do you have to manually lock and fire at each target ?

Yes you do.
Launch drones from both ships, assign one ship's drones to the other pilot, which then proceeds to shoot/paint the rat and *whooosh* go ten sentries.

EDIT:
As a matter of fact, you don't have to manually lock and fir at each target. Drones will lock and engage any agressing NPCs.

Although in mission hubs, it's advisable to set them to 'passive', or else they might shoot at ... people who want to be shot at. Which is not always what you want to be shooting at ;) AFK sentry domi is a thing of the past.

as far as i am aware, this is not true any more. there used to be a bug where someone could aggro your drones by shooting your MTU but this has been fixed.

I should buy an Ishtar.

I wouldn't go the Noctis route. Salvaging, while profitable, is much less profitable now that it has been in the past. If anything - grabbing an MTU and scooping the choice modules is the easiest option.

Having an active ship, and a passive ship is a good option (i.e. one ship assigns drones and than you alt tab back to your main screen). The one problem you may have with an alt in a sentry boat is you over alpha enemies and waste dps.

What about dual CNR or Golem. Is it too much of a clickfest ? Nobody using it ? 2 monitors with borderless windows, so no alt-tab needed. I invested quite a lot for missiles training, so I would like to stick with missiles ships.

If you have a Golem do you really need a second combat ship on grid to help? at that point in time wouldn't it just be better to use the second character as a salvage minion?..

Each ship will be doing it's own mission.

Try 2x Vargurs in that case. Similar ammo flexibility and the range/speed/tank needed for any mission; no need to MJD snipe.

You can push nearly 1000dps (peak) on EMP / Fusion / Phased Plasma with opt+falloff out to ~75k ... barrage well past your ~100k lock range. Bastion up then use MWD to move as required at top speeds of 1000+/sec (faster than Golem). Run both your vargurs cap stable permatanked and most missions you can go get a cup of coffee if you need to in the middle of a spawn.

Using Golems adds counting or wasted volleys, 2-4x clicks per target for target painters, and slower movement to gates. Huge PITA IMO and only real advantage is going to be against Kin hole rats..

2x Tractors and a drone link aug in spare highs, launch an MTU and keep 3-5x salvage drones churning. You one-shot any frigate before it gets in range (spider drones a notable exception) and I find that it is worth using a cycle to blap a frigate in order to finish salvaging by the time i finish killing.

Running two this way isn't really much more difficult than running one, especially if you're staggering mission completions and can focus on, say, AE Bonus Room on one toon while your other lets salvage drones chew or warps back to agent.

Another option is an ongrid booster - you still don't see them in pvp much, but in pve it's quite practical.

For example, a railgun vulture with two fleet links. It can tank anything and everything easily, provide boosts for your other ship, and do 650dps out to 40+15 (more with tcs) - or switch to spike and sniping from 150km. Alternatively, fit it with blasters for 850+, and have it draw all the damage.

You could do something similar with a Damnation if you prefer armour.

Domis, even if each is running their own mission is a great cheap option. After that I would suggest Paladin or Vargur depending on the region you are missioning in, they are perfect for running missions solo and are not attention heavy like say a Macharial that you actually have to pilot to get the most out of. I wouldn't recommend Golem as someone else has said the volley counting/painter will drive you crazy.

This^.

I run T2 tank on one Domi and a T1 tank on the other Domi. Both have T2 drones and even if the T1 tanked Domi gets primaried the combined DPS clears agro without any issues.

Pair of ravens with fof missiles. Fit one with tp to get agro.

For me:
* fof range 220 km, so fit lmjd
* once you get agro timer going, you don't need to target anything, gurista/serp ew i just laugh at
* you can drop mtu, target one rat, activate tp, get agro timer going, turn on fof, lmjd 100 km. once all rats are dead, lmjd 100 km to mtu, release salvage drones, wait for mtu and salvage drones to finish
* most missions rats agro on you automatically so don't even need tp

Ok just had to add some perspective.

Two Machs, One artillery, One auto-cannon.

Warp in lock up to 10 frigs with the auto's and lock up to 10 BS/Cruisers with the arty's, complete 5 room + Bonus AE in 17 minutes, Or both arty and finish Gone Berserk in 10 minutes; or both auto-cannons and Buzz Kill is done in easily under 10 minutes.

Or go with something else, slower, possibly Missiles Ugh
