Well was looking around dotlan and the dust guys appearently followed our example and overcome us in blueing up. For those who didnt really follow the actions on Planetary conquest here a quick run down:

-there are 245 districts in molden heath
-240 of those are owned by the Dirt Nap Squad. alliance

To put it in comparison what would you do if the goons would own ~98% of nullsec, have capital ship superiocity 24/7 and can overwhelm you at any given time? I think when DNS will hit 100% we are looking at roughly 2 billion Dust514 ISK generated per day. No trouble like with moon goo shipping around, its a pure ISK faucet which happends with the production of clones which the districts generate.

You might think that 2 billion ISK a day for a alliance having 22 corps and 1824 members is not much but you gotta remember that the stuff they use is hell alot cheaper then our ships.

Anyway i congratulate the DNS leadership for achieving that what eve players struggled to do since the beginning of this game. And that is to kill every competition by blueballing up and stomp the weak all day long.

They dont?

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

In fairness, that game has so very few active players, I can't imagine it was anything but inevitable.

DNS only recruited the guys who won the game, after they had already won it.

Dust was a failed experiment. Honestly, CCP might as well let the game die.

Dust is actually getting better as a game currently. By this time next year it will probably be good if they can just connect another two steps forward instead of back to the recent changes to the game.

To answer to Brusanan, I think you are simplifying just a bit. If not for the mediation efforts of DNSBlack, the multiple entities would have likely torn each other apart by now. Old rivalries would have been difficult to look past without an overarching goal.

Dust is nothing but a suffering animal. Time for a mercy kill. No wonder any corp able to make a full team will win, as there are not enough players to make an opposing team anyway. The game is bad and made completely unplayable by being made for PS3. Hopefully it will die soon due to PS3 being replaced by PS4. Keeping it a live is a waste of the EVE subscribers money really.

Spend the time on a planet based MMO, fully intergrated with EVE. With habitable planets and the whole thing. Now that would be awsome!

That would also have been the sensible logical next step for eve. I'm not used to ccp doing either logic or sensible in their business decisions.

It would, no doubt about it, but I can hear the screams of outrage from the "EVE is a ships in space game" faction if we were able to get out of our capsules anywhere but CQ.

Those who shout the loudest seem to get heard more by CCP, and look what has happened to WIS

Dust has a good core to it. At the heart of it is a fantastic strategic shooter. The shooting elements of it are a bit lackluster, but the strategic elements are stronger than any of the other FPS I have played. Reminds me of BF1942 in all the best and worst ways. Dust does not need to be destroyed or even gutted. It needs polish and love and maybe a new engine. Right now, the biggest thing holding it back is lack of player retention. The game needs to do more to organize the newberry masses. Trying to run solo gets people killed 30 times without one for themselves and they quit.

There IS a good game somewhere in dust's lifeless hull. It can be built upon and renovated. Up until recently I was unsure if CCP had the will or ability to make it work, but they have shown that they have both in recent patches and fixes. At the very least they have bought themselves fan fest to keep the faithful interested. If what they come up with is good and implemented, they may get another year of interest out of the dust community.

As capsuleers will die permanentely if killed outside their pod, it would prob need to be a game in itself with new characters, own servers and maybe even own subscribtion. Would maybe work even better if you got a a 5 bucks a month discount if you subbed both games.

Just make it so you can launch stuff into space, which has been build on planets (like PI, just many times more advanced), and make the market combined for both games. I could see it work, and as it was another game, **** the WIS haters. I didnt like WIS either, but if it was a whole planetary MMO, it would be a completely different story!

No they dont. Capsuleers can simply be recloned from their last clone backup. You'd lose the SP acquired between said backup and your death but the only way for a capsuleer to permadie is to kill all his backup copies as well. Blink

Anyhow; 98% of Dust planets are owned by one alliance because they dont like the current state of planetary conquest and this is their way of protesting, they've recruited all major corps into one alliance and will dominate PC until CCP fixes it.

If only our null-sec alliances had half the organizational abilities dust players seem to have we could actually see some null-sec iteration. Lol

The Coreli Corporation is recruiting.

I've got a Merc, roughly 11m SP or more, and I let it sit. Not because I don't have a PS3, not because the game itself isn't fun, but because of suit costs.

I trained into a Logi suit and many times I can't even use it because the cost of dying is too high. Mind you, my suit only costs roughly 35k per if I recall.

I do my best to follow someone in heavy armor and heal them up, drop some links, revive people, etc. I usually end up in the top 3 of the kill board in points as well, but I die too much for me to play what I want. I have to help my team anyway I can, if that means following them into some BS and getting myself killed, so be it. I gotta get that win ISK. So, I have to half ass the game and play in a suit that costs 10k instead.

That's what bothers me about DUST. It's a rich get richer scenario. I get queued in matches against people who are in full prototype stuff hitting harder, further, with more tank. Can I take them out in some BS free fit? Sure, but what good am I doing my team taking one of those guys into half armor instead of repping a few people and reviving some others instead?

The rich get richer in DUST. You either get into a corp with a district, or you get pub stomped by those who do because they can afford to drop prototype tanks or use prototype suits all game.

Given CCP's habit of "changing priorities" , WIS / Incarna being a fine example, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Good news is... there are plenty of shiny, new FPS's always out there on the console market. DUST will go out with a whimper, and even then I'm being charitable.
