Why is it that warping to Dock and Alt Tabbing out delays Docking?

Not sure if OP is saying what I think he is saying.

An example. Two accounts with a pilot in each account being played at the same time. Both pilots are in space. You go to one pilot and order him to dock in a station. You press alt key and switch to the other pilot, order him to dock at a station, and stay watching that pilot. If you don't alt tab to the first pilot then they will not dock.

If the OP meant this then the game has been like this for all the years I have played EVE Online. I just presumed it was meant to be like that as others have said.

I'm a solo player, an elfish miner. I finish mining and hit the Dock command and once I hear the Warp Drives start up I Alt Tab to read forums or 9gag or whatever.

Come back half an hour later and my ship is at the station but only just commencing the Docking Request routine.

We gankers are also busy people, for your information. So many Evil miners, so little time... Your actions cause a butterfly effect. Here let me explain.

Your boredom derives you to Alt-Tab which tingles our "ganker senses". That tingle tells us that you aren't playing the game which you should be playing. Knowing this fact causes a chemical reaction in a gankers mind which leads to an unstoppable urge to fit a catalyst and blow you back to your medical clone station. Concord guys slack off as always and arrive late to the party. Foregone conclusion occurs. We warp our pods to safety. The ganker senses have 15 min cooldown to be triggered again. This is like a never ending process.

We are NOT evil evil.

Tis not boredom which drives us. It is a lust for efficiency.

When our gaze falls across the heavens we see the endless burning ocean of the stars.

Ripe for depletion.

Confirming this is highly annoying when it happens. Also, "file a bug report," really? The number of people who mention this occuring should be a clear indication that there is a bug. Also it's easy to replicate... Enter system, pick station, click dock, alt-tab, come back later. Hell, it even happens sometimes if you alt-tab back to the client before you've finished your warp.
Then there is no reason not to bug-report it so it enters the QA system properly and can be tracked.
What Tippia said. I want the logs when this happens and therefore I'm asking for bug reports from within the client at the time of occurance.

It happens everytime you want,.. even you can make it happen,..

just be in space, click "dock" to a station, then alt tab out of eve.

the ship wont dock.

What's funny about asking people to report bugs using the bug-reporting system?

Its funny the fact that hes asking you to report a bug (or not a bug) that has been on for years.

Leads me to think hes joking.

This just in

CCP DEVs last to know about bugs multiple years old.

Bug report and petition system GMs dismiss claims of game failure by reflex.

Welcome to 2006

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

Maybe it's because people just laugh rather than submit bug reports, hmm…?

Not sure if this guy is serious Ugh
That sort of thing has been happening for ages that I gave up on bug reporting. Multiple reports, under different releases. Wtf? It took a GD post to raise this?

Having done development work myself, the more logs about a bug the better.
Just because you bugged it before, don't ignore it the next time. Bug report it again. And again. And Again. AND AGAIN!
So yes, he's serious. If you want to whine about a bug, REPORT IT!

Ugh, can't believe people are serious about not reporting bugs.

If you've got the SAME bug reported again and again, for months under different releases, then let me pose this question :

do you have an effective bug reporting system?

This is nothing new, so you are never docked until you see the station load. =p

I think it has a higher chance of occurring if it is one of those stations where the warp station lands you outside the docking ring then the ship may or may not continue on to the docking procedure.

Best to use a warp to bookmark that lands you inside of the docking ring and once you arrive dock up.

I thought this was working as intended to keep people from afkwarping, the new menace.

You guys are funny, it happens every time you warp (dock) to station and alt tab, just go to computer and do it, you will have your personal log. This bug is so old and happend every time then I thought this was working as intended.
