Standings for Trading/Industry

I am on a personal quest to become an industrialist, and I have settled on a training plan. I have also read however that I need standings for manufacturing AND selling my things? After doing some research I have decide to trade in the trading hub of Amar and I hope to do my manufacturing in Amar space as well.

My question is what faction, or corporation to be more specific should I grind standings with? I have no combat skills so will have to be a corporation that has distribution agents.

Thank you in advance!

First and foremost, you want good standings with the corp that owns the station you want to trade at. This to reduce the brokers fee. In addition, good standing is also important if you're going to refine or reprocess stuff into minerals. Again, with the owners of the station where this will take place.

Thank you, so for me that would mean I should grind standings with the Emperor Family.

Don't front load the standings thing too hard. If you want to work the market, do so, and just spend enough time to not detract from whatever fun you might be having doing something else. Eventually you'll have a good high standing.

Another thing worth considering is that buy orders are taxed based on the station they are placed not the station they are filled. So you could use Amarr family as your sell station, but find some other corp that is represented in all the regions you trade. Then you can place your orders at that companies stations for region wide buy. Then pick everything up, or contract everything for Amarr.

Wait, that is exactly what I do, Amarr family standing = 8.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Grinding the standings doesnt detract from my gameplay actually. I am self employed and work from home, so sometimes during the day I can do some distribution missions with autopilot on. I have multiple screens so its easy to just stick it on one of them. I also just intend to sell the stuff I manufacture. I dont have the time or the inclination to play the markets.

Then when I do have time to play, I mess around with my pvp pilot in FW.

You will want standings with anywhere that you place a lot of sell orders or a lot of buy orders.

For me, this is Federation Navy (for selling at Dodixie 9-20) and Federal Intelligence Office (for buying at the place I produce) and Sisters of EVE (for trading at Apanake station).

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

You have to look at station logo and see which corporatian and faction owns that station and search agents of this corporation. Then you can do some distribution missions for that corporation. They are most comfortable to do AFK. And especially storyline missions for corp standing. Having LvL4 security mission capable character (some battleship i preffer typhoon) is also handy for some occassionall security storyline mission or cosmos missions.

If you have some ISK to spare you can consider datacenter missions.
Social skills also help a lot with this. They allow you to skip all but first lvl1 missions and about half of lvl2 missions.

Even though I'm an industrialist, I still have combat skills for grinding standings, and for wars [wars are inevitable in hisec].

I recommend being competent in at least a battlecruiser, though one can run most level 3 missions in an Assault Frigate.

I avoid courier missions, but... A cargo rigged and fitted Magnate is great for most courier missions up to level 3, but a Blockade Runner is best. Level 3 courier missions are great for standing, if you don't die of boredom first.

Emperor Family = Amarr Oris
Ministry Of Internal Order = Amarr epic arc (combat). Offices nearby in Kor-Azor (Nahyeen and Polfaly), and Domain (Penirgman).
Carthum Conglomerate
Imperial Armaments

I also have Hedion University, but that was when Distribution had >60% combat.

Given how close Amarr is to Tash-Murkon Prime, Kador (Aphend has a level 4 Emperor Family combat agent, and a level 4 Carthum Conglomerate combat agent, 4 jumps from Amarr), and Kor-Azor, you might want corps there too.

Sisters of EVE helps keep the Gallente an Minmatar from hating you too much. Doing storyline missions from them will raise Gallente a fair amount, and Minmatar slightly. Doing the SoE stater arc for Minmatar (or Gallente) every 3 months will raise that standing a lot more.

I'm Caldari, but I "grew-up" in Amarr-space (and then w-space).

For Caldari corps:
Caldari Navy = Jita
Expert Distribution = They are everywhere (even Amarr), required for Caldari epic arc
Kaalakiota = research corp (poor for refining), but they are everywhere

All my standings (without skills applied). [My alts have the ones I mentioned but that I am personally missing, or have low standing with.]
