EVE's a social game most of the time, thus if you wanna "jack in" and fleet up or hang out with other fellow spacenerds you'd better at least have the energy to keep up with 'em. Either they're trying to talk to you in a chat box, or they might settle for a one-way conversation with guns and missiles and their little drone friends for the time being until you're more chipper.

I noticed If I get a crap amount of sleep I'm good for maybe 1 hour of EVE, tops. Then i'm either doing another game that requires less brain or less social interaction, or getting some sleep, or doing something else entirely.

So what's the minimum sleep you're willing to put up with EVE? And if you're pushing it...how long can you push it? I.e. me on 4 hours sleep going an hour tops

Aside from downtime to load up on more stimulants, I've gone as long as 3 straight days.

This morning I did this:
- Prep onions, mushrooms
- Basic eggs, never overdone.
- garlic and Onion Powder. Ready.

You want to b-tch about this? It's simple. Add butter. Nothing bitter.

Its a video game. I have no idea how to relate to your post. If I'm tired, I go to sleep and play EvE I do not. If suddenly boobies, I don't play EvE either. In fact, there are a lot of things, friends with free beer, kids doing something cool, that would convince me to not play EvE. Sleepy, go to sleep.

...I don't know, I sleep 8hrs every night. It's about looking and feeling 10yrs younger than I really am and retaining my ability for short term memory which I need to fulfill job tasks. That and coffee ...but not after mid day. Last time I slept less than 8 was one day in November.

I'm in it for the money

of course once those run out....good luck trying to get me to do anything that requires brain power

There was a time when I was playing all day,
only interrupted by around eight hours of work and sleep.

That was a good time.

I guess I could have taken 15min powernaps ever 20min... xD

Sleep is merely a state caused by an acute lack of caffeine.

All posts and mails screencapped and time stamped, including out of EVE, you will not reverse on me.

Might come in handy!

I dont play EVE when I dont want to in general. Im pretty sure most people feel that way about a game or any hobby.

If I want to play, but I'm tired, I find myself not handling crap properly. My flexibility drops and I get angry and emo. Which is bad. Cos this is EVE.

Some examples:
- People undock in the wrong ship
- People bring cheap ass ships
- "I want to join, but cant cos I dont have that ship"
- Fleet takes forever to undock and move
- Insults
- People throwing **** my way, forcing me to think for them
- Forumposts about n00bs wanting instant skillpoints / nerf h-sec / nerf null etc

I cant really handle that with less than 4 hours of sleep. Which is bad because EVE is "just" a game. Also.... EVE

TL;DR: 4 or less

Oh my goodness. Did I really just read a post suggesting EVE players get an appropriate amount of REM sleep?
Next thing you know someone will suggest people not play while sh*t-faced!

Won't wonders never cease?

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

Just sniff the USB rifter a bit, that should do the trick!

But you're always yawning.

Surely you play on very little sleep in order for you to seem so tired most of the time.

Nope. Diapers are dry. All good at the nursing home here.

Thanks for asking.

You've probably heard this a few times: someone yawns in fleet, so you yawn. God-of-your-choice help you if you're already tired, or out of caffeine. Or how many times have you logged in and just "hung around" in a daze, spinning ships but not really doing anything at all 'cause you were so damn tired?

I could probably file away a few months of my total life after 5 years of EVE in that lil' category...damn.
