Once again CCP has hidden CSM voting. You have to be looking for it to find it and those people looking are going to be voting anyway.

Why is the only advert on the launcher a little 1" by 2" image tucked away in the corner that is part of a slide show?

Why is there no link on the Eve community homepage?

It's as though CCP don't want people voting.

well if people don't vote then nobody gets elected and CCP can justify scraping the whole CSM bullshit

I am basically new, and yet I managed to read a lot about CSM voting and surprisingly, I already voted.

Don´t you think that checking http://community.eveonline.com/ from time to time is enough?

There is nothing on that page indicating a vote.

I think if you know enough about the CSM and their responsibilities, you'll know when the vote is and how to get to it. People that would need a big "VOTE" button all over the launcher would probably be the ones voting at random rather than reading the campaigns and making an informed decision. So maybe it's best it's not so easy.

I haven't voted yet, but I will be voting based on my own preference. I doubt it will differ much from the goons vote list though, since I'm a nullsec player after all, and I support keeping members of our coalition and null overall in the CSM so our needs are met. Steve will likely get a vote too, since I'm a big fan of data and I know he is interested in seeing CREST progress.

Even the CSM page, http://community.eveonline.com/community/csm/ doesn't mention the CSM vote.

=/

edit: comma was auto-added to link, breaking it.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

By making it hidden, it ensures that only the most intelligent among us cast votes, leading to a more informed election.

I think it's more or less okay the way it is. Anyone who really doesn't like the way EVE is run is probably complaining on the forums, and has enough awareness to spot an participate in an upcoming election. If the CSM functions primarily for the benefit of players with gripes, that's cool. Subscribers who are happy enough not to seek out the forums may spend more time in the game, and that's cool, too.

There IS a nice notice rotating through the launcher these days.

CSM doesn't get to change ccp pages, but if you go to

http://csm8.org/

you might find some more pointers.

And yes, we are bugging them to do some 'get the vote out ' stuff
