Funny, as a new player I wanted none of those things.

But... didn't everyone come from a different game ??

I don't see 1 and 2 so much, but 3 often comes up. Well at least a broader spin on it, but in that general ballpark. You know, people that want the standard 'kill x amount of rats and progress' for whichever character they choose to log in with. Maybe less now since CCP introduced multi-training, but here and out there most of the complaints were around the different skill progression system.

Me, I just want the jukebox back :P but then I'm not a new player.

I think the main objection for most new players is the steep learning curve. EVE isn't a simpleton game, dumbed down and the constant flow of micro achievements to keep those players engaged. There is a whole psychology behind many games now, which also makes them all alike. To those I say be careful what you wish for, there is always the next clone coming out of which you will be bored with. The psychology behind it, to me, is a form of insanity. The insanity of doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different outcome. The cake is a lie!!!
