I think that a new HUD with shield, armor and hull resistances is needed for the main viewing screen. Each time the resistance of the section of defense takes a hit it would pulse with the amount of damage taken.

A visual effect like this would help in managing shield and armor resistance systems during conflict.

Being able to work out what type of damage you are taking is one of the things that distinguishes good pilots from less good pilots. Don't make eve easier, make the pilots better.

During combat being able to see visually what type of damage you are taking to adjust your defenses appropriately will make a better pilot rather than working out what type of damage you are taking.

How this system would work is you would have a two tier bar for each of the resistance and the defense system to the left of the HUD that you could display or hide.

With normal modules you could only see which resistance is being affected with each strike against the system.....

...but with the new module system you be able to actually adjust the resistance values for the effected resistance based on a click and drag upwards or click and drag downwards function to adjust the resistance value within a certain percentage that would be based off of the pilot's skills.

If you are in combat and have this module fitted and are attacked by a pilot using EM munitions you could adjust the shield or armor resistance value for EM to counter the attack and then return the resistance value to a normal resistance afterwards.

These modules would be very expensive upwards of around 750 million each and could be found in only the lowest of low null space systems , Ghost Sites or the deepest Sleeper Zone.
