Change the way ship bonuses are displayed!

I get it, people like to think they are getting moar shiny on their T2 ships, but it's utterly pointless for ships that require a skill at level 5 to give their bonus as "per level". It should either just be a flat out bonus or subsumed into the ships stats.

Take the Ishtar for example, it currently gets a 7.5% Heavy Drone max velocity and tracking speed and 10% Drone hitpoints and damage per level of Gallente Cruiser, but there is NEVER ANY SITUATION WHATSOEVER WHERE ONE CAN BE FLYING THE DAMN SHIP WITHOUT GALLENTE CRUISER 5! The bonus is never anything other than 37.5% Heavy Drone max velocity and tracking speed and 50% Drone hitpoints and damage.

An Ishtars bonuses should be:
Quote:
Ishtar

Heavy Assault Cruisers skill bonus per level:
5km Drone operation range
7.5% Sentry Drone optimal range and tracking speed

Ship Bonus:
37.5% Heavy Drone max velocity and tracking speed
50% Drone hitpoints and damage.

Role Bonus:
50% reduction in MicroWarpdrive signature radius penalty

The way it is labelled now is simply pointless obfuscation and pandering to children and stupids. This would be like putting a bonus on a Titan that gave you +5 HP for every level of Capital Ships you have when you need Capital Ships 5 to fly it. It should just be subsumed into the ships stats.

some ships have had skills changed around and the prereqs are not fully trained even though the primary is. Happened when I trained command ships.

Then CCP need to fix it so you cant fly it without the prerequisites either.

Are you crazy? oO Also, apart from this skill change induced irregularities, how about when you lose skill points due to podding? How should CCP fix that? Roll

The prerequs are for training the skills, not for flying the ships itself, as CCP stated in the then Dev Blogs and forum topics.
No change needed as your suggestion just makes the Traits tab less flexible and misleading if you don't have all the skills for whatever reason. Also, your suggestion is "pandering to children and stupids" because you then don't need to calculate any more, in contrast to the current state.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

how do u suggest we make 25% turret damage into a ship attribute?

if were going to just type it into a role bonus, how is that any different from typing a per level skill bonus, unless u struggle to multiply five by five.

It might be nice if everyone saw a different readout based on their skills e.g.

Gallente Cruiser Skill Bonus (Level 5):
  • +37.5% Heavy Drone max velocity and tracking speed
  • +50% Drone hitpoints and damage.

  • Heavy Assault Ship Skill Bonus (Level 3):
  • +15km Drone operation range
  • +22.5% Sentry Drone optimal range and tracking speed

  • This way, it would tell you what level you have all the affecting skills trained to and what benefits they are giving you. That's what you really want to know when you look at the traits tab after all.

its never difficult to figure out what id get from a ship using my own skills. im more interested in whether its worth training to perfection

let me tell u from experience
    it is not

    seriously, u cant multiply 1,2,3,4 or 5 by 5% 7.5% 4% 10% 15% 20% etc etc?

what we have now we see its 5% per level, i multiply that by my current level to see what im getting now, or 5 to see what its maxed.

if u make it like the idea above if i want to see what its going to be maxed i have to take the % it shows me, divide by my current level and then multiply by 5.

the math isnt hard, but why take a flexible system and make it annoying like this?
