Why does it take forever to open the map now when it was moderately fast before?

Reset your cache

When eve is weird (backwards flying loki) try a reset of cache.

I reported that in the bugs thread. Hope it gets fixed ASAP, as I don't rly wanna use third party programs, for my navigation.

Nobody likes using third party tools when they don't have to, so Ill do your work for you, and supply a free third party Elementary English Grammar and Spelling Service.

It opens as fast as before....

...when you have recently opened it and open it again.
...or when you have resource cache enabled from the esc menu.

Perhaps you should look up the definition of abbreviation, which is itself a corruption of the Latin word "Brevis".

While it is true that neither "ASAP" nor "Don't" are abbreviations, they are initialisms and contractions respectively, I fail to see why one is any more valid than the other. Rly is a shorter version of really that gets across the same meaning and is perfectly valid.

Language changes, get over it.

Why do people continue to post problems they're having after a patch?
Invariably the first response is 'clear your cache' and that usually fixes the problem.
Why are people such idiots?
The first thing you do when you have a problem after a patch is clear your cache, always...

And another thing, since this patch resets all your window settings etc. you might aswell delete your settings folder too, and start off fresh. I did..

Totally agreed..except, when it doesnt. Roll

Clearing the cache nor enabling resource cache helps to fix the uber slow loading of starmap.

After it takes for ever to load for the first time, it will load fast for a while. Then after the few session changes, it reverts to it's buggy slow loading again.

CCP please fix.

It's terrible even with cache cleared, 10 to 20 seconds to show the map, 10 to 20 seconds of freeze, you cannot do anything. I have the bad habit to press F10 often to check distances on system map, each time I'm screwed actually.

I don't have anything else to be unhappy about in Crucible so I am very unpleased with that!!! ;)

Doesn't fix it. Still takes longer to load than pre-Crucible.
