To the developers: Recurring Patching Issue

Last month I ran into an issue where my eve client could not install the patch and would stop at around 30/40%, then I would get the error message saying the installation failed. I cleared the cache then went to run the repair tool, which would also fail due to an error. I submitted a support ticket for the issue and it took forever to get a response, and no real solution was offered.

This morning I tried to log in and encountered the exact same issue.

The only fix that I found for this issue was to delete the game and reinstall it. To me, that is not a realistic solution, or even a workaround. Yes, I am aware of this thread and have followed all the suggestions there. I have also tried manually downloading and importing the patch with no success. I have submitted another support ticket but I don't expect they will have any solution to the problem.

I read that the developers read these forums frequently so I would like to ask....why does this issue still exist? Why has there not been a realistic solution to this recurring problem? Am I going to have to keep deleting and reinstalling the game every time this happens? Why does deleting the game and reinstalling it fix the problem?

Yer i'm in the same boat. I could not fix the 'validating client' at 0.0% last time I wanted to play so ultimately downloaded and reinstalled full eve.
Was busy and didn't play for a little bit (few weeks), fire up eve and there has been some probably small patch, I wouldn't know because i'm stuck at the launcher validating just like last time. Was not going to download the thing again, I don't have lots of download bandwidth to burn so I cancelled my sub literally a day after I resubbed.
So 11th hour attempt to return to eve before my access goes but its still broken, read threads, tried lots of stuff, nothing works.

What do you do when the game you love requires you to downloading the full client every time a patch comes out? Maybe just delete the thing and be done with it. Ugh

Edit: actually fixed it after whining by taking mrrabit's advice. I had foolishly followed a blue post's advice to do this in the launcher instead which did not fix it and led me to disregard the fix. Lucky i had a final look before nukage and tried this fix:

when i launched the eve launcher it started a new client validation and worked after that.

Yeah I have a data cap on my internet as well and since this has become a somewhat regular occurrence it makes me very irritated. I'm running the game fine now (after I deleted and reinstalled) but next time I will try what you linked here.

Its frustrating that there are still consistent launcher issues.
