I think Akita is just a CCP alt patting him/herself on the back.

But more seriously, nice summary of the awesome things for Crucible. Don't forget the shiny-looking Gallente and Caldari ships!

// Akita T back to his full posting strength? Good times. //

New font is a huge improvement, corp bookmarks are all shades of awesome, new graphics are kickass and I could go on for quite some time. Bloody good job CCP.

My traders appreciated that when I look at my auto pilot course the dots indicate what region each system is in.

I haven't messed with it yet but the graphics where you see misses will pay dividends for the game. The videos people make of eve fights will be much better. This will mean more videos and better exposure for the game. It makes me want to get a tracking disrupter and fraps.

Awesome expansion CCP!

My under appreciated updates:

- Warp effect (specially through planets) is awesome!
- Gallente/Caldari CQ (why are there bottles lying all around? How do I call room service? My CQ was not cleaned up after the last guest left) .

Well there is some sort of terribad colour banding, much stronger than Incarna had anywhere, once you get out near the dark brown nebulae. And the warp effect kicks in too early, looking a bit silly when you begin warp near a planet (but it's still cool yeah).

My favourite small change? The god damn window toggling. Windows now toggle. Oh boy did it irritate the hell out of me to see that in 2011 some windows toggled but most still didn't. The first time I saw cargo toggle off, it brought a tear to my eye.

The new system and autopilot HUD is much nicer too.

I really like the way that it can take up to 3 and a half minutes for logistics to gain aggression while repping thanks to the new aggression warning.

I love everything in this patch other than the nerf to drone regions. That single thing ruined the rest of it for me.

Time dilation. awesome.

So you count LAG as being awesome...

rofl

So wot, has lag, what do they do... MOAR servers, optimizations, etc etc...

What does eve do.

Make it a feature and everyone is happy LOL

People want lag, wow...

Eve can never die with that kinda attitude.

You obviously have no idea why Dilation is actually a good thing until the vast amount of time, energy, and money, can be invested in creating a 100% lag free environment for 500+ player all on a single node.

Instead of creating lag, this allows the lag to not effect people who want their commands to be heard and can handle a slightly slower speed fight if things get crazy.

Think of it more as Bullet Time for Space Ships.

And back to OP.. I have only had 5Min to spend ingame since the patch, but the eyefull of awesome I have seen plus all the goodness I have read over about what it added will reignight my EVE fire for a good bit.

Careful, forum readers don't all get some of the in-jokes" and quite a few might take those words at face value Blink

I count alleviating some of the side-effects of the UNAVOIDABLE lag as awesome.

In case you did not know already, we have a saying : it doesn't lag because the hardware//software sucks, it lags because people pile up on one another UNTIL IT LAGS.
Make a system not lag with 2k people ? You'll just get 3k people in the system. And then you get lag again. After a year or so, make it so it doesn't lag with 3k people ? They just bring 4k people. And lag's back. And so on and so forth.

The fact that the system can now handle lag SOMEWHAT gracefully while other more permanent solutions are researched and implemented to increase the load that can be handled before lag hits is an AWESOME thing.

In other words, given a certain amount of "lag" at a certain point in time because of a certain amount of players being handled by a specific hardware server node, what would you rather have, stuff freezing, almost nothing responding, waking up to a clone after not even seeing what happened... or rather, experiencing everything in slow-motion and doing whatever you would be doing if lag would have not existed (just slower) ?
I know which option I'd choose each and every time.

Glass Canon BCs will establish an opportunity to move away from duke nukem primary systems in large fleet fights. Any Alliances able to form fleets and primary at the squad level will dominate the battle field. Rather than 25 Vs 1 ten times it can be 2 vs 1, 125 times on a battlefield.

If CCP could set up voice servers for squads now.

I've haven't had a chance to do much in-game yet due to stupid work, but I absolutely love the new Jump button functionality for semi-afk traveling. And the way that nebulas give you the sense of actually being in a physical place in the galaxy of New Eden. And the new warp tunnel effect. And that blasters are sorta kinda decent.

Yeah, this update makes me smile a lot! It seems I can't decide what my favourite feature is. I'm loving the trails, the auto pilot docking, the nebulae and I haven't even had a chance to play around with the new ships or T2 modules yet. Well done CCP :)

Rail Nagas dealing more damage at range than a Rokh does even at moderate skills (and much more compared to pre-patch Rohks at similar skill levels)... insane and CHEAP instant damage at long range even in the hands of a relatively new pilot... yeah, I could see this becoming a rather good occasion for a second round of Goonswarm-like opportunities if any other large new pilot group could consider wandering in.

I also like the way the stargates are turned in different directions. It's especially cool to go through a stargate pointing at a nebula and end up smack in the middle of it on the other side. Epic win.
