Everyone loves a good scandal. Pietergate has been pretty entertaining so far.

Did you actually read the Original Post? This thread was nothing but sharkbait from the outset.

There seems to be a basic flaw in human rationalization in terms of how we define an opponent who otherwise seems so very like us, something I have identified as the “Noble Enemy Blind Spot”. The “Noble Enemy Blind Spot” disables us from honestly evaluating the motivations behind the actions of some of our opponents because we have erroneously attributed them with valuing morals that have defined civilization for many thousands of years.

Technology is not civilization, therefore nations that use advanced technology are not automatically more civilized nations. No honest person would argue that the Amarr were more civilized then the Minmatar, they simply had better spaceships and weapons technology and were able to conquer them.

We who admire technology, and yes capsuleers with our tight binding to our ships certainly qualify in that group, often mistake those wielding technology the best as the most civilized, sadly for the sake of humanity that is wrong thinking on our part.

If the often spoken grand ideals of nationalistic patriotism that make our opponents seem so like us while simply being on the other side of the coin enable them to participate in absolutely inhumane activity like human slavery and involuntary transfer of humans into the cyborg ranks of the Sansha it is high time we evaluate what it means to be truly civilized.

Our opponents are not noble, they are inhumane terrorists, preying on everyone not strong enough to defeat them, like a voracious bacteria infecting the body of humanity in the New Eden Cluster, we would do well to accurately evaluate them based on their actions and not their slippery words that allow them to dance around the basic values of decency that unite all humans regardless of nationalities.

There will never be peace with the Sansha or the Amarr, they are hellbent on total conquest of New Eden and only a fool would think otherwise. The Caldari are content to cast their ballots with these invading hordes because short term irrational fear of the Gallente negates their long term intelligence. The price they pay for this folly shall be great indeed, instead of being a defender of humanity they have started along that slippery slope that will place either slave collars around their necks or controlling implants in their brains making sure they serve their Amarr or Sansha masters. The worst part of this fate is that it will have been self inflicted by their fearful leadership.

Of course not. I made a reply earlier based purely from my powers of telepathy.

But it doesn't have to be sharkbait sir.

But please, don't let my little form stand in the way of you eating one another, ah.

Oh dear. I suppose I ought say something at this point. I shall do my best to be brief and polite, since emotions seem to be running high, and I'm apparently one of the points of contention in this discussion. So, to address the statements made:

Regarding the direction of my sympathies: I don't sympathize with people who are in a position to help individuals with my condition, sir. My condition is unique, and the care I currently receive is excellent. I co-operate with organizations researching palliative neurology. TS-F does employ a number of highly skilled neurologists and information scientists, but their research is augmentative, not palliative care. As such we have relatively little overlap.

I have never been given treatment from TS-F or its associates. I have discussed the topic with them, though can't recall the details. Do mind, though - I've discussed treatment with almost every recognizeable faction in the Cluster. A lot of people want to look at my brain for some reason, as it turns out! They might think it holy; I think they'll find it holey.

Regarding our work in screening rescued State citizens: This is something I can discuss more concretely. LDRBC has conducted, and still conducts, reception investigations on many parties returned to State space from Nation holding facilities or contamination zones. Our facilities are very thorough and the procedures are very expensive. Insofar as it is possible to screen for such anomalies, we have done so. Specific procedures are trade secrets, but we provide full exit reports to the hiring parties including aforementioned blood screening work, high resolution atomic resonance scans, cognitive map, genetic and epigenetic configurations, and anomalous protein vectors amongst other tests. We're very proud of our work and feel that we have just cause for our pride.

Regarding my compromization to TS-F: I am perhaps the least at-risk individual in the Cluster. I am subjected to excruciatingly thorough weekly medical examinations, with more intense batteries monthly. I am under the supervision of psychologists, neurologists, cognitive scientists, and a host of bio-doctors. My brain is thoroughly mapped and supported by a constellation of implants that allow my doctors to see deeply into my cognitive processes. My brain is, quite literally, held in copyright by Lai Dai Corporation. A more rigorously tested and monitored infomorphic brain simply doesn't exist. TS-F would be less conspicuous walking through Jita 4-4 CNAP naked and carrying ornamental furniture than they would be in trying to infiltrate my brain, memetically or otherwise.

Regarding PYRE's actions in exchanging prisoners with TS-F: I'm overjoyed that they are able to rescue State citizens, but am troubled at the price they pay. It is a most pragmatic action, however, and provides an additional communication vector to Nation. This assists in everything from peace efforts to threat prediction. My concluding remarks on this is that it is not my affair, and thus my opinions are only opinions, and should not be afforded weight in any decision-making. I will happily co-operate in analytic decision-making on the topic if asked, however.

There! I think that covers everything. Are there other accusations which I ought address?

I am also Greatly Confused by many Posts in this Thread.

Oh, Synthia, I do love your hair like that :) It's quite becoming!

I fly Caldari hulls; I'm sure that's no surprise. My heart goes out to the Naga; it really does make me feel alive to be in that ship. There's something about being in a dense hull that's little but a massive powerplant, engine and shield projection systems packed into a frame almost to small to contain it. You should see the serotonin, oxytocin and epinephrine charts, they're really something!

I of course try to rescue stranded crewmembers, regardless of nationalities, but my priority is in keeping my own crew alive. I happily provide basic health and safety services for those rescued, and surrender them to Ishukone Watch or Lai Dai Protection Force when I am able to do so.

That sort of opinion is also based on a fallacy, that what is human in someone requires both the good and bad. We believe that what is bad in humanity can be excised and what is good exalted.

The difficulty we have with the rest of the cluster comes in when what values we consider to be positives differ with those of others. There are traits that we value very highly and assign high station to. There are traits that we consider to be poor, that we would remove, that others consider to be driving factors. It's really the same song and dance as any other set of differing social groups, and it ought to have remained as such except that the Big4 decided that it would be a wise idea to try to kill us all and wipe us off the map. What we are doing now is, in my opinion, a rather muted retaliation and repositioning considering what consequences face us if we fail.

Wow.

I don't think I've ever completely lost respect for an entire organisation and every individual associated with it so quickly or nonchalantly before.

The people we rescue tend to think differently. And really, the penalty for Piracy is death anyway, isn't it?

Try it.
